    Chameleons and people

I was just curious because I love them now, amazing plants. I have sundews(drosera capensis), Mexican butterworts, and several nepenthes. My one nepenthes is thriving in my Parsons enclosure eating thousands of little millipedes, flies, and other bugs that fall into it. They all massacred soil...

    Carnivorous Plants in Chameleon Enclosures

Nepenthes are def. A fave. There's sooooo many different species with different shapes and sizes. Sarracenia are gorgeous and can surprise you. Sundews are wicked pretty and keep gnats away :)

    Carnivorous Plants in Chameleon Enclosures

...looks like you may be right. Yours are all very nice. Nepenthes are my favorite, sarracenia are cool, but I hate the dormancy. Sundews are probably the next coolest. Fly traps never catch much for me, but look aweskme, and butterworts just look like succulents, but do a great job at gnat control.

    Chameleons and people

I have various sundews species, butterworts, one bladderwort, asian and north american pitcher plants, darlingtonia and a requisite venus flytrap. I'm pretty new to these, too (about a year or so), but I have found them easy to care for--they just want lots of light and to have wet feet. They do...

    Dragon strand and bioactive

Pitchers are amongst the more hardy and trample-proof carnivorous plant species (the highland species seem especially suited for cham enclosures!), but I'm sure other species can be used if they're positioned out of the way! N. Sanguinea is a commonly sold highland species that can tolerate a...

Anyone know a way to control or eliminate the little flies that hatch from potted plants?

One can not eliminate fungus gnats (or shore flies) with soap, sand, nor traps. The larvae live deep in the soil. Adults often breed at the soil surface and never take flight. They can breed in the soil at the bottom of the pot, so sand is ineffective. Traps only monitor a tiny fraction of the...

Jackson's Chameleon not eating anymore, please help :(

Josh's Frogs isn't horrible price or otherwise, but isn't the best... on the high end of price and variable quality BUT: try hornworms- order them a size or two smaller because they grow FAST (like almost double in size every 2 days). At least it will get them some moisture... by the way, is...

    Eradication of Gnats/Fruit Flies

To quote my own self: "One can not eliminate fungus gnats (or shore flies) with soap, sand, nor traps. The larvae live deep in the soil. Adults often breed at the soil surface and never take flight. They can breed in the soil at the bottom of the pot, so sand is ineffective. Traps only monitor a...

Anyone know a way to control or eliminate the little flies that hatch from potted plants?

I found this product on amazon but it appears to only affect misquito larvea. Any idea if they will kill the dirt fleas as well?

    Madagascar Biome Project

@ArowanaLover1902 my nepenthes have almost single handedly killed all my gnats within a couple weeks. Not trying to be argumentative, but I think they are wayyy underrated for gnat control.

    Anyone tried this for gnats?

so i'm havig a gnat problem out of nowhere. Pretty sure they're fungus gnats. The vinegar trap hasn't caught any of them so I was looking for solutions other than tearing my cage apart and came across these tips...

Jackson's Chameleon not eating anymore, please help :(

Thank you, I'll try hornworms out! She is about 7 months old, and those things get BIG, so I wasn't sure if that was really an option for me. I guess I just gotta feed them to her when they're super tiny babies :) She is drinking plenty of water, so at least she is hydrated. In the past day...

Stupid gnats!! How do I get rid of them?

I bought a box of beneficial nematodes to control fungus gnats. I don't know if it works because by the time it was delivered they had already gone away.

    Waterfall??

They tend to be more trouble than they are worth. Besides becoming a watery grave for feeders, they are often difficult to keep clean and will often make controlling humidity an issue. It will likely lead to more gnats and other unwanted issues. They do look cool, but many regret adding them and...

    Carnivorous plants

Okay Idk If this counts as a pet, but can someone suggest me a good site to order carnivorous Plants? I'd like to get a bunch of Mexican butterworts among others for my chameleon room to fight against gnats and just because I like them. I realize they won't solve a fungus gnat problem, but a...

    Best carnivores plants for Fruitflys

As far as I know, as long as the pitcher isn't able to swallow the cham, it is a great plant. I look forward to using it in my new bioactive setup, because it will control the inevitable fungus gnat invasion, the leaves are great for drinking, and it grows nicely.
