My panther chameleon is brown/ darker in color

It’s hard to tell…does he have a basking branch about 8-9” below his heat light? I love your plants! You could add some more branches or vines though…more little chameleon roads to travel.

    Help me

If you’re in Florida, I can possibly help you find one. If you’re elsewhere, another member is awesome at helping find vets…just let us know your general vicinity. Usually we have to travel a bit for the good vets experienced with chameleons.

How to transfer Panther Chameleon to the vet?

This should give you some ideas. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/traveling-with-chameleons.733/

    Vacation

My trick is showing the bird feeder cup close to my chameleon with full of roaches. Let him see the bugs in the cup. Once he notice. Let him watch you attach the cup where you want it. He will know he will have to travel there for the rewards.

Here is our list of vets who forum members have found to have some experience/knowledge of chameleons. Often we do need to travel a bit for one.

Pseudo-gout (veiled chameleon) - any hope?

Hi, all! My male veiled chameleon is 5 years and 4 months old - he was diagnosed by a reputable vet as having pseudo-gout this summer. He had some random "bumps" around a couple of his joints and on his tail months ago. Since this spring, he's undergone a biopsy of his bumps (they're fluid sacs...

    NEW MOON REPTILES

@jannb is usually always able to provide a great vet near people. We do have a list of vets who we have found to be good and knowledgeable with chameleons, which I’m attaching. There look to be a couple in Illinois, but the reference is a bit old, so no idea if they are still there. Often we...

I was trying this but he will literally only eat if I’m holding the bird cup. It’s crazy lol

    Tail Curl/Pics!

Hey, Cham fam! Unfortunately, I have to travel out to the screen repair shop tomorrow morning in order to disassemble my own cage. The man who was meant to be repairing it was not confident in his ability to reassemble the cage after repairing it, so it turns out… he never even started it...

    ❄️Winter is coming❄️

Alright so I have only had my chameleon since April and have learned so much, but I don’t think I’ve read much on chameleon keeping during the winter time. I know the proper temps the room should be in but I live with my sister and I can’t run an oil heater in the back of the house or else the...

    New family member!!!

I would say to follow the same rules for Arnold as for any living creature needing to evacuate. Take essentials enough for several days - food, water, supplements/medications. You’ll also need something to put him in for travel and in the event that you’re gone for several days or more, a larger...

    Black spots on face

Their colors become very apparent in their sleep, typically. I agree that a daytime photo would really help, but I do lean towards pigmentation myself. Here's a cute thread of chameleons in their "pjs" to look over too. You can see several veileds showing off their dark blacks even in their...

Sinus infection from too much calcium?

I don’t think she looks underweight. I look to the casque. For panthers, you don’t want it bulging out as that means they are obese. You don’t want it too concave like a bowl as that means too thin. Cheeks are the other indicators. You want the casque to be more flat and cheeks to be flat...

    My Husband Passed Away

For those of you that don’t know my husband, Michael, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday morning February 23rd of a massive heart attack. We were together for 47 year and married 44 of those and traveled to so many places and had so much fun together. He supported me and helped me...

    Please help!

Hi. This poor guy needs a vet immediately! We can help you make husbandry corrections but we can’t fix this. It can be difficult to find vets with experience with chameleons, so I’ll attach the list we have. Often we have to travel a bit. I can make some other suggestions, but get him to a vet asap.

Sinus infection from too much calcium?

So, just FYI, the only vet you have listed for MT is not in MT, they're in MO.

How do i give my chameleon water?

I’m afraid that your reptile store hasn’t given you fully correct info. The most important is your UVB is not the right type. Chameleons need linear T5 fixtures with either Arcadia 6% or ReptiSun 5.0 UVB bulbs. Distance between basking branch and light should be 8-9”. The coiled screw in type...

    ❄️Winter is coming❄️

I would suggest getting a collection of varied watts of basking bulbs and monitor temps thru the day to adjust as needed. You may want to think about getting a herpstat to keep the temp more consistent. https://spyderrobotics.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1 That is probably the best way to go.
