    Chameleon eggs splitting.

The reason why they are in a incubator is cause I don’t have a ac unit I use window ac & my house is usually around 66 - 70 (If it’s cold outside it gets really cold inside. I just didn’t want them to die. )

Panther egg sweating but baby cannot get out

Thanks for your reply, i watched this video. The egg in this video has cracked the egg and this man just gave it a hand to support it to hatch. In my case, i incubated at temperature 25*C. And i check everyday these clutches without open the lids. I saw it sweating in 2-3 days then collapsed...

The effects of light exposure during incubation on embryonic development and hatchling traits in lizards…

While not about chameleons, IMHO this is something to consider regarding incubators we use…do they heat the eggs through lights or other means? What does this mean for chameleons? Does candling eggs affect the embryos if it’s done too often or for too long? https://www.nature.com/articles/srep38527

New study: Furcifer antimena growth rates, interesting prelim results

It could also show that this species will not be able to establish in the hobby due to genetic longevity issues which unfortunately probably means we as hobbyists should not seek them for importation, and they should continue their difficult little lives without us bothering them Cool stuff...

How do I know if she laid eggs?

Oh wow, that was a huge clutch. How is she doing now? One of my incubators I got on ebay for under 150, it works just as well as the Zoo-med ones which are over 300. I don't know if the Styrofoam box method is good, im kinda concerned about the heaters, what temp is it inside box? I never trust...

    Chameleon egg denting/deflating

I would do like Snake Discovery and ‘incubate until there’s no debate’.

    Baby Parson’s hatching!

Are you retiring from breeding Parson’s in general, or just for a year or so?

How do I know if she laid eggs?

48! Some VERY small but I will incubate all of them. I'm going to use a styrofoam cooler, place a few inches of water in the bottom, lay two aquarium heaters in the water, and elevate the plastic containers with vermiculite and eggs over the water. Do I need to poke holes for ventilation? Sue

Gravid Veiled Chameleon may be having trouble laying her eggs

You said…”Nooo. The chameleon in the smaller cage isba 2 month old female. We completely covered her cage”…even though the cage is covered, I would move it away from the other chameleon if I could…she may be sensing the other female. This might be of interest to you and explain a bit…...

    Soil temperatures in western Madagascar

THIS is Awesome! I realize it’s “old”, but greatly appreciated! Recently started breeding and have been geeking out on all info I could find for the last 5 years or so. As we incubate I can’t help but wonder about the variance of the soil temps. I track temps in Madagascar, but the soil is so...

    Egg laying

I just thought about this, when I bought her she was in a tiny cage with two males. Could this mean the eggs are fertile. Should I incubate the sand? What would I do with a bunch of babies?? I didn’t get her to breed her but I knew I would have to deal with the egg laying process but just not...

one panther chameleon egg hatched this mornz!!!

    Free panther chameleon egg

I am super anxious that the little one will hatch at an unexpected time which is why I am looking for someone who can pick up in the next week. If I had the time and expertise, I would certainly be keeping it. I am currently incubating in a dark but warmish enclosed area (with some humidity)...

    Furcifer labordi

I've ALSO been thinking about them the past few weeks! There's this old thread on them which I'm hesitant to necro-post to without building some local reputation. I got interested in them based on searching for a good model organism for life extension research. They might be the shortest...
