The good news is the Nitens actually laid eggs even if they were outside of the lay bins. The Lineata bins are full so maybe they wanted a new lay bin. I just put new Lay bins in on Sunday, for the Lineata. They are full of eggs by Tuesday

New study: Furcifer antimena growth rates, interesting prelim results

I think a lot die off each year but not all, probably a bit less extreme than labordi. Each year, they come in as pretty beaten up adults at the beginning of the rainy season, and then as vibrant young adults a couple of months later, which to me indicates that some survive each year through the...

...the cheeks / face they’re greenish blue. And don’t worry I did not buy this from a breeder this was my first time breeding but sadly my incubator cooked all of my babies except this one… Luckily, I took this one out of the incubator and forgot to place it back in…. it was a good thing I...

    Chameleon eggs splitting.

...in the container that the eggs are in…so having beads of water on the lid of the container the eggs are in is good. I never used a regular incubator so someone else will have to tell you if the actual incubator has to hold some humidity or not. (My incubator consisted of a human heating pad...

Developmental plasticity in an unusual animal: The effects of incubation temperature on behavior in chameleons…

More on incubation methods effects on hatchlings… “The highest incubation temperatures were disruptive to development; eggs had high mortality, developmental rate was low, and hatchlings grew slowly. Changes in temperature during incubation increased the among-clutch variance in incubation...

Welcome to the world little one...!

Yes :) It is still incubating though. I've noticed it starting to get more windows lately but otherwise no signs of hatching soon. These eggs are from 2 different sets of parents as well so I'm not sure they will hatch around the same times anyways Edit to add, both eggs hit the 6 months mark...

So sorry to hear that you are losing them. When they first hatch, do you leave them in the incubation container until they are up and around? What is the temperature the eggs are incubating at? What temperature are you keeping the babies at once they hatch? How big is the yolk sac when they...

New Brookesia owner. Please help with ID and any tips and tricks for acclimation

A couple notes. The first one seemed to have trouble opening his eyes yesterday and was rubbing them against stuff, but had them opened by the end so, hopefully it's nothing to worry about. I should have buried the second egg a little more, I watched him struggle for a while to get out, I...

Mia Was Egg Bound and Had to Have Surgery Today

...or at least not visible. Likewise, upon examination of the cavity, we found a cyst that appeared to be attached to the kidney. We were able to remove it to send it to pathology. For now, I have her in an incubator while she recovers from her anesthesia, and I will inform you of any abnormalities.
