    Chameleon eggs splitting.

As far as I know most keepers that are breeders use vermiculite. as far as an incubator unless they have to go through a serious diapause it’s not necessary most panthers and veiled are hatched out of a closet where the temperature stay around 70° as I am not an expert just going off information...

Hello everybody, My panthers chameleon eggs is being incubating until today is 9 months. It has no sign of hatch like sweat or shrink and looks it good. Panther egg sweating but baby cannot get out

We don’t know type temperature you were incubating them at, the humidity level, were they in a dark place? We don’t know the health of the parents. Some eggs will take on too much water and burst and the baby will have suffocated. Sometimes the shell becomes too hard/stiff and the baby can’t...

one panther chameleon egg hatched this mornz!!!

I always remove the babies as soon as they are on their feet in the incubation container…but it won’t hurt them to stay in the container for a day or so. IMHO…I think it’s ok for the eggs to hatch “individually” in captivity. I think it gives them the chance to hatch when they’re ready, instead...

    Grasshopper Piggies

...But I don’t care, spotted birds are fun to watch and they eat a lot so I know they’re packed with nutrients. I feed off any that don’t seem strong, or who have lost legs. And when those eggs finally do start hatching I’m gold because my incubators will be full of lay bins hatching monthly.

I feel like the set up is pretty good but I just don’t understand why the eggs “burst”

    Furcifer willsii pairing up

I got a nice clutch from this pairing, and have another clutch incubating as well. The correct incubation has been hard to identify. I am doing a diapause of 60 to 50 for 3 months after 1 month of daytime temps of 72-74 and nighttime temps of 65-68. Then raising the day/night temperature (to...

    More Baby Pygmy Chameleons!

Thank you! I absolutely agree with you! Despite looking like a tiny brown leaf, they sure are beautiful! Beauty isn't always linked to having color the brightest rainbow colors - though it sure does help :) I pick them up incredibly gently 😅 I feel like the way I just pick them up and grab them...

    New CB OE Parsons keeper

I’m going to leave it to someone else to tell you. The only female Parson's chameleon I had that was gravid, came in that way, wild caught, and had many health issues. She did lay eggs and showed a beautiful gravid colouration during the time she was gravid…so I can’t speak from experience...

How do I know if she laid eggs?

What I meant about 2 clutches, was that one of them would be laid about a month earlier than the other. Hence the size differences of the eggs.

New Brookesia owner. Please help with ID and any tips and tricks for acclimation

The chameleons seem to be doing fine. Unfortunately, I found a single dead egg, and none others yet. I do not know how long its been laid. I'm going to assume it was her first ever clutch. The good news is that it means I must be doing something right, the bad news is that I'm doing something...

How do I know if she laid eggs?

...for the reply, Cam. She seems to be doing great - eating like a champ, basking, hunting for loose bugs, etc. I will look around for an incubator to buy because I'm not sure this home-made one is going to cut it for 7 months. The temperature in there is too high if I put the cover on...

How do I know if she laid eggs?

...winter coming in Connecticut I don't have a closet that will be consistently warm enough so would like feel more confident in some sort of incubator where I can better control the temperature and humidity. I used to have one of those sytrofoam ones for the turtles but it broke - may just...

    Calumma brevicorne

I was advised 65 for roughly 30 days then gradually lower to 55 for 45-60 days then gradually raise temps to 73-75 degrees. Roughly 13 months total incubation.
