    Husbandry Review For Male Panther

Hey there off to a great start... What is your distance to the branch below the UVB? Did you put anything on the outside back panel or right panel to protect your walls from overspray? Only thing I would adjust is have a misting session late afternoon when your cage temps start reducing. This...

Are all houseplants safe for chameleons?

As for philodendron, you are correct that the primary toxic component of this plant is calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause irritation and swelling of the mouth and throat if ingested. While philodendron is not typically lethal to animals if ingested in small amounts, it can cause...

...has been investigating it and I think he likes it too. I will attach a picture below Also, with the new pothos at the top and my big philodendron, they kinda block most light from reaching the bottom and all those plants need light so I added a small plant led bulb in a lamp at the bottom...

    Are these safe?

Pothos (and philodendrons) have calcium oxalates crystals, which are irritating to the GI tract when cats and dogs eat them. It’s never stopped my cats though and it obviously has no effect on chameleons. I haven’t looked up the toxicity characteristics for the other plants which we use and are...

    Philodendron

I've seen a lot of people use philodendron plants in their cham's enclosures. But i'm wondering what species of philodendron is ok to use in a veiled enclosure. I usually go by the chameleon academy list and a few other sites/lists that have been recommended on here. I know the heartleaf and...

At what size should I reduce feedings for a female veiled chameleon?

Thank you both! I hadn't realized that about the Exo Terra vines, thank you for letting me know! I've got golden pothos and some type of philodendron hybrid (I forget the name, berry something?) but they're still a little small and won't provide much cover. Do you think I should still remove the...

...will check the hygrometers again and see if it's holding humidity better. Are all houseplants safe for chameleons?

...is one of the plants that is on the safe list for chameleons. What is it that makes it on your toxic list? Also curious what makes philodendron toxic? I use heart leaf philodendron with my veileds as from the info I’ve found, the toxicity is primarily calcium oxalates, which is the same for...

    Bioactive

Right now I just have a ton of pothos, philodendron and tradescantia zebrina. I have a few plants on stand by - schefflera, monstera/Swiss cheese plant and a different type of tradescantia. I don’t have the greenest of thumbs, so have to stick with what I know lives.

    ENCLOSURE PLANT SUPPORT

True about the Monstera, that one isn’t suitable for an enclosure. There’s a smaller alternative called Monstera Acuminata and stays way smaller. Another good alternative, which I use, is the philodendron florida line.
