    Veiled laying bin

My female veiled is finally ready to lay her first clutch I used this old butterfly cage do to her home having a thick carpet of Irish moss and ants that were bothering her this morning when she was attempting to burrow at the edge of her home. Shes got a solid burrow built now so everything is...

    Leaf insects

Yes, I used the tall version of that, but 12” is the minimum height needed so they can molt. Any substrate (or even no substrate). They will hang off the branches of your bramble or oak - so i like using somewhar long pieces and leaving old stuff in when i replace it, so they have lots to hang...

    New noseybe panther hatchling help!

I think it’s a male, that’s what they said too. Should I move him into the butterfly cage or just leave him? He started to eat, one cricket today and one yesterday with a meal worm.

    New noseybe panther hatchling help!

Yes, thank you! I’d love to hear your methods. I just ordered a butterfly cage, I’m not sure what to do till it comes in for feeding. I put small enough crickets in his cage now but I think they’re just staying at the bottom of the cage.

Finding new pets in my kitchen

My biggest concern with that is that I have a cat and I feel like a butterfly cage would entice him too much whereas I already have a nano exotera at home for my tarantula that he pays no mind to lol

    New noseybe panther hatchling help!

Oh good, I was thinking the same. I get the butterfly cage tonight, I just hope I can move him without it being a problem. I don’t think he’s going to come out on his own and I don’t want to force him.

    We’re moving 1700 miles HELP!

Hi there. We drove in the car with Lula in a butterfly carrier that had a couple of sticks propped up in it and it was mostly covered by a sheet. They don’t need to see the passing car and scenery. We drove like three hours a day. We brought her big home cage and set that up each afternoon...

I’m not sure if my chameleon is sick or unwell i’m not sure if anyone can help

Your Chameleon - Veiled around 2 months old ( going off what the shop told me) Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon? I don’t actually try to handle him as he’s still pretty terrified and runs away when i open the enclosure Lol so i leave him to his own devices. Feeding - What are...

    We’re moving 1700 miles HELP!

Thanks for the response, things have been so hectic preparing for the move I haven’t checked back here. That was a heck of a journey. Sorry for your loss. But thanks for your insight. We are moving from East Tennessee to Northern Cal in January. And have been scouring the forums for info on...

Vet Visits in time of CO-VID

I could never get my guys in a box. They just panic too much trying to get them in. I bought butterfly screen cages on amazon for around $12, and they’re much better all around. I put two sticks in there like an X and secured the middle. I put a cover over them to reduce stress and encourage...

Can I use this 1 bulb to replace both basking & UVB bulbs?

Okay it's almost finished. I've affixed strong magnets to the sides of the mesh butterfly cage (which is bigger than his permanent setup by a few inches), then affix magnets to the various branches. I've setup a light hanging rod to suspend the SolarGlo 2-1 bulb, I've dialed in the UVI to be...

Can I use this 1 bulb to replace both basking & UVB bulbs?

I see. Well being that it is temporary, If you can move the cage outside for a few hours a day would work. Other wise an MV bulb could be used. I started using ExoTerra they are cheaper, but don’t last, so good for your situation. Follow the distance charts for it, and you will be fine. Just...

    Secondary Chameleon Cages/Containers

A better option to these are collapsible laundry hampers. Same idea (flexible fine mesh with a tensioned wire frame) but you can get them in larger sizes for a lot less money and they don't require being suspended from anything. You can sometimes find links for nice large ones from...

    New noseybe panther hatchling help!

Yea, that sounds much closer. My clutch hatched mid April. I've moved on to pin heads for the bigger ones and Hyedi for both. Crickets will tend to stay near the bottom but will eventually migrate towards the heat lamp or an upper corner. However, if they're hiding in the bottom it could be...

Spare Help To Someone Not Only New To Pet Chameleons, But Pet Reptiles In General!

Alright, yeah that does make sense. It's all about money when it comes to business... What do you suggest for other food sources? I don't know if you saw, but I had mentioned I lived in a rural area in Texas, so PetSmart and PetCo are the only options I really have open to me unfortunately. And...

so when they are young can they be housed together? And then separated when they are older? or vise versa. And When I upgrade Codas enclosure I was planning on using that.
