How to disinfect chameleon enclosure after parasites

...does look doable, and I almost went ahead and bought one, but I worry about how I'll position her very large uvb and heat lamp on a butterfly cage. Any temporary recs on how to position them on whatever smaller enclosure I wind up using? Her flukers vines and pinworm meds have finally arrived...

I looked at the butterfly cages and actually found a 24” by 24” but will they last and can you put your lights on top? I think the nylon mesh would melt.

Cage search is like the gas shortage 🤣 any suggestions

Look into the butterfly cages. They are very cheap and work well. I have been using them for a year for my juveniles. https://caskabove.com/housing-resources

...isn't bad and much is still useable. A 24in UVB fixture and bulb is going to run about $50 - $60 . You can make due with the rest if you set it up proper. This will last till a larger cage. Look on my site www.caskabove.com and look at the cheap housing. The butterfly cages are very...

    Best lighting for panther chameleon

Sorry dear, getting an enclosure is one of the more pricy items on the checklist. I personally use a 2x2x3 butterfly cage but I have a smaller female. This will work fine if you have a female panther. For a male I would use the 35x35x59 butterfly cages, they’re around $60 and can work well with...

    Affordable bioactive baby caging?

I'm not entirely sure if you are asking for baby enclosure recommendations or enclosures for bioactive in general. However, you can convert any cheap screen enclosure into a bioactive, near solid-sided enclosure by simply adding coroplast or other plastic where needed. You can then add corn...

So I got this huge butterfly enclosure

They are not great for UVB. It will only pass through where the sun is square to the cage. But this is true for any screen. I use the butterfly cages and they are really pretty good. The trick is to get some dowels to help keep the top stretched tight. This will allow the most UVB to get...

Depends on the sizes. Small nymphs? 500+. Adults? maybe 50. Butterfly cages are good for small nymphs but they start chewing through it when they get bigger.

How to disinfect chameleon enclosure after parasites

I’m so glad that I’ve been able to be of some help to you. There’s lots of different types of thermometers/hygrometers. Right now I’d suggest getting a temp gun to avoid contaminating anything and throwing money away. It will only measure surface temp though, not air temp. You could measure the...

    Chameleon cage

...purchase a second cage. If you can't find one on the sources I recommended, you should consider building a temporary cage or buying a butterfly cage/habitat made from mesh. Then construct a pvc frame around it to hold up the lights. @Shanar808 uses a butterfly habitat for her jackson's...

Clear or Solid Chameleon Baby Bins?

Oh okay thanks for the info. I’m just worried about the visual stress the babies might have due to seeing other big chameleons. So i will probably get the solid color one if it does not matter 👍🏽 If anybody has anymore opinions about this let me and everybody know.

Should I be taking my Jackson’s outside?

...but just wanted to mention it. When you take a cham outside be careful that no predator gets it. (Depending on what animals/birds live in your area) but I think the butterfly cage should help with that... though it is very fine fabric-like mesh if I’m not mistaken?? so I would still be cautious.

Husbandry Review for Young Veiled Chameleon that is Gaping

Ok see my feedback in Red Bold. :) When/how long should the basking light be on? Both ways can be done. I personally only run my basking fixture from 9-1pm. I run multiple T5 fixtures so I get quite a bit of heat from those as well. Would a blood test help diagnose whether he has a...
