    Is this gray tone normal?

I do see a little spur, so I believe you do have a cute little boy. 🤗 I do see some needed changes in his enclosure. The first is to move the uvb light to above his basking branch. It does have a relatively narrow band where it’s at peak levels and then drops off very quickly. Provided your uvb...

    Is this gray tone normal?

Aww…little cutie! 🤗 Yes, it’s a normal coloring for a veiled. Usually, when they are bright, they are fired up or asleep. Their normal relaxed colors can be a bit on the greyer side, especially for boys. I have to ask - are you positive you have a boy? Do you see some prominent nubs (tarsal...

    Out of enclosure plants?

It’s not the tips of the tongs that are the problem, but it’s that we aren’t quick enough on the release of them. You see how fast those tongues shoot out and grab a bug. If the bug doesn’t let go in the millisecond it’s grabbed, the tongue muscle and shooting mechanism gets pulled wrong and is...

    Just an update!!!!

Aww…cute guy with beautiful colors. 🥰 I always love when they use the super duper tail hold like that…twirling it back onto itself to lock it in place.

    Out of enclosure plants?

I have to caution against tong feeding. Chameleons are much much quicker with their tongue shoot and grab than we are with our release, and this can result in a tongue injury. Some chameleons have even had such a bad injury, that they lost their tongues completely! Sadly, I’m not exaggerating or...

I totally forgot to point out where she is.😂 Guess that’s a good thing then.

    My Dubai colony had babies!!

Yay! 🥳 🥂 That’s doing pretty darn good, considering it’s cooler months. They like it hot…like 90F, to get busy. It can take a little bit of time to get them started, but well worth the wait. 🙂

    New to chameleons

Make sure to read the blog I gave you the link to. I go over lay bins and best substrate and all that good stuff. Here’s the link again. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/veiled-chameleon-laying-101.2488/

    New to chameleons

It can be a challenge to hang branches and plants in screen enclosures, but there are solutions. The first is Dragon Ledges. https://dragonstrand.com/dragon-ledges/ These are awesome and worth their weight in gold. If for any reason those aren’t an option, I’ve been using garden trellis with...

    Hide and seek

She is very good at hiding. I just spent far too long trying to find her and was about to worry…and there she is watching me freak out. 😂

Find a sleeping Stella. She’s been stripping her money tree leaves, so a super easy one.

It’s never to soon to learn about caring for our lovely girls. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/veiled-chameleon-laying-101.2488/ If you have any questions, just ask. Do make sure to ask Fram’s how much they’ve been feeding her to continue. Most important of all!!! You must share pics and...

    Is he ok? (First post)

Hi and welcome. 🙂 I’m not sure what coloring you’re asking about and it’s kind of hard to see him in your pics. Maybe you can provide some clearer pics and explain what color or area you’re concerned bout. I can tell you that a few things need to be improved. 32c is a bit too hot for him. A...

They get a big nope from me. Not only are they not breeders and more likely selling wild caught specimens, but I doubt they are healthy. The female veiled they have has what looks like a burn in her side. That is not a natural marking.

You need to communicate with Fram’s and arrange for the chameleon to be shipped to your local hub. That way the cham isn’t at the mercy of weather, insect predation or getting stuck on a truck.

I think my guy is dying, I'm so sad!

I’ve read (and written) my fair share of memories of love for our chameleons and other animals, and yours just brings me to tears. You have a lot of beautiful memories and truly gave him all of your love and care. Your sweet boy is not suffering any now, and I believe is enjoying the blessings...

    Need help

Keep in mind I’m not the greatest at this, but I believe I see a hemipenal bulge, so male. At 9 months old, it should be showing better indicators of gender.

    New to chameleons

Chain pet stores (Petco, Petsmart, etc) source their reptiles from breeding mills (think puppy mills, but for exotics) and little care is given to the health and well being of the animals which are producing or being produced. If you have a strong enough disposition, look up reptile breeding...

    New to chameleons

Hi and welcome! There’s not really anything more I can add to what has already been said. 🙂 I see your list though and wanted to let you know that there are some wonderful options to buying a good chameleon kit. Neptune has partnered with Pangea and has a couple of kits...
