    Is he chubby?

So yes because soft bodied feeders will have a higher moisture content and combining with Dubia will balance the food so he does not end up with loose stools. The concern about him drinking from the syringe is it shows desperation to drink. Because chams innately do not drink in front of...

    Phantom leaf eater

...is to hatch a mantis ooth in your enclosure. The baby mantids eat any pests and your cham gets some tiny snacks. I do it to help with soil gnats. Does your clean up crew have enough leaf litter and other biologicals to eat? Even though my enclosures are pretty established, I do add fresh...

    Getting rid of gnats/fruit flies

In my Cham room(all bioactives) I had them so bad I couldn’t open my mouth without breathing them in. It’s generally fungus gnats that come in on soils. A few drosera capensis (did most of the work) and even butterworts and pitchers eliminated them and grew so much from it. They did such a good...

    The dreaded gnats...

Update: I replanted the plants that I noticed had the most gnat-ivity. Added more sand to the tops of others that could fit it in. Bought a fancy indoor bug zapper; that also startles my dog and I when a juicy one gets it! As for the mosquito dunks... I ended up smashing up 4 with a hammer...

Camiezone babies from Homer and Big Girl

You’ll need to get some river rocks that are at least 1-2” in diameter to cover the soil of the plants. He may be seeing some tiny insects in or around the soil, like tiny worms or gnats.

    Is he chubby?

I buy mine on amazon. I would just buy it where ever and keep using your plain no D3 until you get it. I did not realize you had that kind of cage. Note with cutting the glass, I have seen these break the panel. So you could buy a wet vac instead. and wet vac the bare bottom of the cage. 2...

    Jack the nosy be

I only used because I had read on here in the past that it was safe for our chameleons. It’s a bacteria that kills the gnats and their larvae. Still, I only put it in the soil and avoid the leaves. Btw, Jack is just gorgeous! 💗

    Gnats

Does anyone else have a problome with gnats? Theyre all in my cage and im worried they will hurt him. I cant seem to find anything safe for my boy to get rid of them. Some said to let soil dry for a couple of days, but his mister goes off twice a day. And the bottom of his cage has enough plants...

    Getting rid of gnats/fruit flies

I’ll have to get some more sundews. The ones I had never were able to rebound after the cat tried to eat them and knocked them out of their pots.

    Is he chubby?

So I was able to order the Repashy LoD that will be delivered today. I can't find the Repashy NoD without shipping taking until the beginning of February. Any recommendations? A lot of the sites also want $9-10 dollars to ship it. I will look into the drip tray. My cage is this one...

    Getting rid of gnats/fruit flies

That is wild haha I just bought some mosquito bits and if things get bad I’ll get the drosera capensis but again I only have a couple flying around since it’s so new. The old enclosure had a lot more from the potted plants.

How old and what gender is my guy???

...formulation (like Repashy Bug Burger) is much better. I have similar issues, but with ants. Although just this morning I found soil gnats/fruit flies in my bug bins. Thru use of bait products, I’ve been able to eliminate the larger ants, but the teeny tiny ones are resistant to it...

    praying mantis?

Yes, they eat fruit flies and pinhead crickets until they grow big enough for other bugs. Right now I hope they are getting their fill of soil gnats and their larva.

    praying mantis?

...in a large cricket keeper and kept them very well fed, so any cannibalism was at a minimum…I think. I was thinking of letting them hatch out in my chameleon enclosures, but that might result in my little hunters chowing down on all of them in one bite and no soil gnats being eradicated.
