    Cham behaviour

I would think it would cool them off like kids running under a sprinkler on a hot day.

    Cham behaviour

Wouldn't 96 degrees be almost a normal temp for chams from east Africa?

    Cham behaviour

Was misting my new cham [Senegal] and as soon as the water hit him he ran [well moved at a snails pace away from me]. Are most chams afraid of getting wet? My anoles run like hell when i mist so it may be a lizard thing, I thought on a hot day [96 in the GH] water would welcome.

Brought Wild Chameleon Back to Life

Yes thats me. I'm still trying to figure out if i'm getting uvb or not. If i take glass out for a screen it will get too cold in GH in the winter. Hopefully i can get things figured out quickly.

Brought Wild Chameleon Back to Life

That was amazing. I just had a cham shipped to me that was doa. I sprayed him with water and just left him. in a few hours he started turning white so i buried him in the yard. I wonder if i could have done more?

    New chameleon

Since you have an accurate meter could you take a single pane of glass and test it outside with the meter under it? The meters over $200 i don't want to spend that much for a single test.

    New chameleon

I realize the cards aren't an exact measurement but if i hold it up in a normal lit room it doesn't turn purple but under the greenhouse glass it does. And even now at 7:30pm holding it up in the greenhouse it doesn't turn purple but when the suns out it does. I think some uvb passes through...

    New chameleon

well i got one of those credit card uvb checkers that turn purple under uvb. As a test i checked the sun directly, yes it turned prurple. Then brought in the greenhouse and held near the roof glass [with a 40% shade cloth]. Purple again! Guess i won't need a uvb light.

The advantage of planting pothos at the bottom

Looks great. i always considered pathos hanging plants but apparently they work well as a climbing vine.

    New chameleon

One thing [well many really] i don't understand is how does the uvb get past the glass in the uvb bulb?

    New chameleon

For the summer i plan on taking him outside for uvb breaks. Not sure where i can put a light in GH as i can't even find him in the daytime. So far he stayes in one area when he sleeps. This could be a problem. Would love to hear from someone that keeps chams in a greenhouse.

    New chameleon

    New chameleon

Hello, i've had chameleons in the past but just got a new one. It's a Senegal from Backwater Reptiles had for 2 days. Reason i got a Senegal is i wanted a smaller sized chameleon. He's free ranging in a greenhouse but i also have anoles and a flying gecko and was afraid a Veiled or Panther would...

Seems crazy for a $7 Anole. Do many stores do this? Pretty sure my local pet shop doesn't.

    Pet Smart weird policies

I was thinking of this while waiting for her to get forms, i was standing in front of the betta bowls and most of them looked terrible. Not moving some sitting on the bottom, some on top not paying attention to the ones right next to them. They seemed near death. Guess what, he's running around...

    Dwarf Fishers chameleon

He seems to have make his home in a hanging basket pathos. I'll try to set up a feeding cup near that although he seems pretty adapt at picking them off the leaves.

    Pet Smart weird policies

Not really cham related so move if necessary. While buying some Crested Geco food i saw a little Anole for sale, cheap $6.99. So waiting 20 minutes for assistance the girl says do you have a cage for him? I said i have a Greenhouse for him to free-range in. She says i can't sell you the lizard...
