In my unprofessional opinion, this looks like maybe some form of guts? Hornworm feces are round, so that’s automatically out of the question. Otherwise, it might be some sort of foliage that got caught on the hornworm before/as your Cham went to eat it? Not 100% though.

I love this thread idea! Cham tongues are a very unique feature, and they definitely deserve more love/attention! Here’s a few older pictures of Rango’s tongue to add to this 😂❤️ (he always loves a superworm treat!)

Awesome! I was really worried that it might have been something caused by the new bugs I’ve been feeding him… but I also just got a T5 light for the first time so maybe it’s just the colors I didn’t see before! 😂

Sorry for the late response, I had to wait until Rango’s dinner time to get some pictures of the tongue 😅 It’s harder to see on camera, so it just looks more like the tip of his tongue is a bit different. Am I just imagining it? (Last one is the best picture!)

For as long as I’ve had him, Rango’s tongue has been a light pink (like bubblegum almost). I’ve seen that other veiled chameleons can have purple or yellow tongues, which is… actually pretty cool to me. But as I was feeding Rango this morning, I saw the tip of his tongue was a light yellow...
