Soooooo uh be careful with grapes and roaches in an enclosed container…. I leave them for one to two days with some cut grapes as I was running late on making their food and now they’re all dead….
Rip my Dubia and Discord roaches, I’m so sorry, your new food was all ready for you today…. I’m not...
Oh poor baby! Thank you so much for rescuing her! She looks like she has a lot going on and I would suggest getting a vet for her right away, I suspect she had mouth rot, MBD, and her tongue could be missing.
Here’s our vet list...
Ahhh thank you and I know right! Her “due” date would be In just about a week so I think there is still a bit of waiting to do
Also I keep second guessing myself! Like does she look like she has eggs??? lol the anxiety, she’s currently pancaking when basking XD
We are just hanging out today! Nachito is showing a few signs of hopefully having eggs, one being pooping little poops a lot more often and having divided attention when it comes to food! I won’t lie I’m super nervous and I hope she doesn’t retain the follicles again 😖
Also does anyone have any...
I would recommend keeping the lay box in 24/7. It can really depend on how long they can last with how strong they are. I would just recommend trying to find an experienced reptile vet as soon as possible. The list I posted earlier has reptile vets that can help
Vets can preform a surgery to remove the eggs and spay her, but it can be very risky and expensive, up to a few thousand dollars. And unfortunately, if they don’t get removed then it’s usually fatal. As of right now, does she have a lay bin in her cage?
Oh I lm so sorry this is happening and I would say she is chock full of eggs, and declining with her eyes closed during the day. I’ve attached a vet list and would recommend getting to a vet asap as it’s very very likely she is egg bound...
Thank you for all of the advice!!! She seems to be gripping very well! I’m thinking about ordering some more silkworms but am having issues connecting/loading up framschams website…. Is anyone else having that problem?
The swelling is the same, I’m hoping that if all goes well we can maybe go to the vet and see if any antibiotics may help (possible infection was talked about last visit). As for gular edema, she got some in November last year when she first went receptive, and it really never fully went away...
She was only eating half her food for a few weeks but skipped food Friday, she has taken a few silkworms here and there when I’ve offered them to her. So far today she hasn’t gone for her food besides one silkworm I offered by hand.
It’s very interesting 🤔 she’s actually lost a bit of weight over the last few weeks, I’m wondering if it’s because she hasn’t been eating all her food (and possibly popping more) 🤷♀️
Hopefully all goes well!!!! Come on Nachito lay those eggs!!
