Why is my veiled chameleon grey?

He shows really bright night time colors and he gets really bright when he is out of his enclosure. I think he's still getting used to his enclosure, and I think he likes free ranging more.

Why is my veiled chameleon grey?

He's a sweetheart. Every time I go near his enclosure he stands on his back feet and waits for me to put my hand in the enclosure so he can climb out and perch on my shoulder. He decided to be a little monkey earlier and hang by his tail to grab a cricket, he missed and lost his grip. He fell a...

Reassurance on my veiled being a boy?

A recent thread that I posted someone made the comment maybe it's a girl. I just need reassurance. He is 3 months old and he has the extra little bump on his back feet.

Why is my veiled chameleon grey?

He hatched out 11-2-13 and the breeder sent an image of one of his clutch mates that is almost double mines size. As for raising temps, I did then he starting huffing because he was getting to hot ( and not moving to the very accessible cool floor!) so I dropped it back down to 85.'he has a wide...

    Handling your chameleon

I've made a breakthrough with him. He loves coming out of the enclosure and he's to the point where he won't take water unless it being given by a syringe by me. Every time I go near his enclosure he reaches out to grab me and as soon as I place my hand in front of him he is more than willing to...

This is the most color I have seen on him awake. He isn't completely grey, but all of his colors are almost grey.

Veiled Chameleon Not Eating (Form Filled Out) Please Help

The calcium with d3 needs to be changed to a calcium without d3 ASAP and I didn't see a multivitamin. He may have a vitamin a problem. His eyes look a little sunken to me as well. Are his urates looking okay (nice pearly while with maybe a little yellow is normal, it shouldn't be orange.)

Why is my veiled chameleon grey?

I'm also thinking my temps may be a little to high in the basking area. He seems to make a "huff" every now and again, he's still young so I assume he hasn't gotten the hang of moving from the basking site to thermoregulate, I'm going to drop the basking spot back to 80-85 again because 90 seems...

    Gave little Echo a "shower"

I warmed Up some water and put it in my little mist bottle, checked it on my wrist to make sure it was warm and sprayed away (I was careful not to get it in his eyes). His humidity was a little low today and his shedding finally started to "blister"/come off in areas. I decided to give him the...

    Handling your chameleon

Today I think we actually made progress. He climbed over to me and perched on my shoulder for a little while. I enjoyed his comfort and I think he enjoyed hid nice warm nap on my shoulder. I love how these animals are so responsive to positive reinforcement with patience, they are extremely...

    Handling your chameleon

That sounds like a better idea! He normally steps on my hand anyway to get to the goodies, but having him crawl further may make it a bit easier to work with.

    Handling your chameleon

I normally use a meal worm for this or a wax worm. I use my free hand and hold it there if it's a more jumpy item like a roach or cricket.

    Handling your chameleon

He's taking very well to being hand and cup fed. I leave the enclosure door open at all times when I'm at home to allow him to go to the free range enclosure if he wants to. He's still not brave enough to come out to the free range yet. I'm trying everything to give him a positive association...

    Handling your chameleon

I used to have a jacksons chameleon and she loved attention. I had her in a extra large reptibreeze that had vines attached to plants and ropes all over the room. Whenever I was home the cage door was always open and she was allowed to roam the room. Whenever I was at my computer desk she would...
