Alright, I hate being captain obvious..but dude. Why in the hell would you think of this? Better yet, why would you fill a condom with walnuts?
I've seen that kid before, seen a couple others too....That dude with the one big arm is a jacka$$. lol
I don't get a good feeling about your vet. Granted I don't know the whole story, but it really sounds like either A) they know jack about chams or B) business is slow, surgeries aren't cheap.
If this vet isn't very knowledgeable with chams, it's very likely they realized they were in over...
LOL Yeah dust his food.
It kind of depends on the cham. At his age feed him 5-6 times a week with skipped days spread out. If he starts looking a lil pudgy cut back to feeding him only every other day. This will be the recommended amount for an adult. By pudgy I mean, arms start looking like...
Hands, did you mean 95 in the basking side? This guy is old enough and should be under 95 degree basking lights.
Your current temps are for sure one of the reasons he is brown.
Dust with Phosphorous free calcium powder ever 5-6 times a week. Dust with phos free calcium powder with D3 2-3...
I took the species I'm keeping to mind when selecting my mesh. Veiled, Panther, Aluminum screen. Melleri, large 1/4 inch hole plastic/pvc hardware cloth. With their weight and size of their feet and respective nails, they would mess up some screen, and possibly loose a nail or two in the...
Minor correction Casper, chamaeleo is a genus not a species. Chamaeleo calyptratus is a species. ;)
There are only a few chams in this genus that can or "should" ever be housed in a group. I would double check the copy right date on that book, you need a better book. :p
Are we sure that wasn't Chuck?
lol still not as bad as that one dude who blew his biceps up.I forget his name, but he's been on Riplies and there was actually a documentary titled "my arms exploded" or some crap like that. This dude had freakishly large arms. It was way beyond what anyone...
I would be hesitant to call this a problem derived from excess calcium. Your dusting schedule is fine, unless you are dusting to the extent that you have ghost crickets after dusting. You want just a fine coat of the powder on them.
I am more prone to thinking this is some sort of sinus...
I just ordered like 70 bucks worth of supplies from here Shipping was only like 7 bucks.
Last time I ordered from LLL, I bought a 5 dollar thing of gecko food...shipping was 9 and some change...
Peter, the viv this person is using is the same one that Chris uses, just a larger version. The one's you posted in that thread are nice, but just do not exist over here, unless you have them custom made from someone like glasscages.com. The exoterra has enough air flow for this species (small...
Yes Benny, Uber =s Massive amount.
I have a nice mix, My male veiled and my female Melleri want to eat my face. The veiled actually bit me last time I handled him. It was to move him to his larger cage. I saw how the "distract him with one hand wile picking him up with the other" wasn't going...
Personally I like the planted without pots look. But really it boils down to what "you" like. Both have their pros and cons.
Yes what you have heard about the D3 is correct. Only provide D3 2 to 3 times a month. Just dust with pure phosphate free calcium daily. You need to provide a UVB bulb...
