Yeah, she might just be readjusting. If she's also not eating she should start again in a day or two.
If she otherwise looks alert she's probably fine... just continue your usual routine for now. :)
Hello, everyone!
I have been completely absent from the forums for awhile due to school and job-hunting. Lately Ridley's adult colors have started coming through and I wanted to share. :)
Here are some old photos. The first is from sometime in February and the second is from about two...
Thanks! For this one I'm using 3D Studio Max, though I use Maya, too.
Wow, this thread got moved into "Photography"? Okay, I guess...
I guess that's sorta flattering, all things told. XD
So this only relates to this forum because it's a chameleon... I thought some of you might enjoy this. :)
I'm in college right now, building my art/3D portfolio to go into the computer games industry. I've been working on a model of a chameleon and a cricket, and I just finished the chameleon...
Yes, these are the ones that cause that condition.
These have proven to be the most trustworthy UVB lights:

When?
I'm glad this was posted... I was just wondering about this the other day.
When should I expect my veiled's metabolism to slow down? He's about 6 months and still eats a lot. (about 10-15 crickets a day)
Okay, I'll just make a list... first of all, read this: http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/ It's a great blogsite made by one of our mods and it has a lot of great info.
About your cage, if your chameleon is longer than three inches form head-to-tail (which he is, apparently)...
Wow, my friend just showed me this. I thought someone might find it interesting.

I wonder if this happens in other reptile species, too?
I've heard Phoenix Worms' skins are extremely tough, and need to be pierced before feeding. That could very likely cause impaction without proper hydration.
Same thing with a build-up of chitin. It is possible to get impacted by a staple food like crickets. D:
Hydration is very VERY important.
Ah, good point Syn. I missed that part.
Have you tried cup-feeding? It's a great way to tell if the chameleon has eaten, especially if they can't escape.
And yeah, that cage does seem too big.
I had a couple musing lately, and I wanted to ask... I have two questions.
QUESTION 1. I realize when I got my veiled chameleon the book I bought for information had an inaccurate piece of advice, to "put the enclosure in a high traffic area" so the chameleon would get used to people. I've...
If he's that young I'd think he should be eating a LOT more than that!
Please fill this out so people can help you better:
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage construction (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and type of lighting are you using...
My veiled sustained some burns from his lamp (which I felt awful about :( ) and I elevated the lamp by setting it on top of an upside-down lasagna container with a hole cut in it. The light is now about 4 inches higher, and with my veiled's most recent shed the burns seem to be fading. Thank...
If you have a syringe you could try offering her some baby food. The vet recommended this to get some nourishment into them.
I haven't tried this; I've only done it with water. You could try doing some reading about it... or see if anyone else has some opinions on the matter?
