since i feed them every day to my cham, they never lack food, so yea ... i would say i offer them too much, but what should i do ?
if i'm not feeding them a day, they won't be gutloaded for my cham
is it true that you can increase the coloring of the chameleons when they are growing, when they are little, by giving them some kind of veggies, like red pepper and whatnot ?
i had a similar problem last month and nobody seem to knew anything about it.
the only thing i learnt is that it's not blood, cus the blood will come out all brownish, so it's something else ...
yea, the boys are more 'emotional' :))
i have a girl so she doesn't get angry that easy, i can 'torture' her a lot before she makes those black anger/stressed/scared spots (that's when i stop)
i know a trick from my vet (when i had to give mine liquid vitamins).
just take him/her from the casque with 1 hand, and with the other just pull carefully his/her goiter. they hate that, that's their week spot and they'll open their mouth immediatelly and you can give the liquid.
or i...
i've posted these (they are like 3-4 days old) on health section asking if she's too fat or gravid, and the most replies i got were that she's gravid, but no signs of that, so it's just the position of the belly and the fact that she rests her belly on her feet in some of the pics could be...
painful to watch at those photos. can't understand how somebody could buy/sell them like that. you don't have to be an expert to see that is a lot wrong with her ... sad, just sad
i have too some adults, what's the best conditions for them ?
i put some egg cartons in the container, temp is about 80-85, a little dark, 3:1 female:male ratio ...
well i can't really measure exactly cuz she's sitting there all the time, but i guess it's like 85F +/-, based on the ambient temp, lowest temp, etc ...
and i'm trying to keep the bulb some kid of far from the top, so the highest temp won't be too much, i don't really want unexpected unfertile...
i think the best 'gutloader' are actually the fruits. my opinion is that none of the things that they sell can't compare with the actual vitamins that they get from fruits/vegetables.
so
1. yes, dubias are the best (yes, better than crickets) main feed!
2. you should gut load them with...
so i know i ask lots of questions in different threads, but i have to, i need to be 100% sure i'm doing it well (when i'm stepping the line, someone just tell me, please).
this time i have to ask if your chams do the same ... my girl just stands on the highest branch, under the basking spot...
i know that the size is the most important thing.
she is almost 5 months, but she's kinda big and fat :D
and i think she weighs more than 60g.
just asking, not jumping into anything yet, wanted to be prepared, just in case.
so i will think about it when she's 1 year old, maybe later.
