Just curious... has anyone observed there cham eating it's shed skin? My Ambanja that I got on the 10th just started shedding today and I saw him looking for and then eating pieces. I know other lizards like geckos do this, but I didn't know chams did.
No, he's a blue bar ambanja, about 7 months old. I couldn't get him to show his colors too much, he seems pretty happy in his new house. I'll try to get more pics when he starts showing his colors more. Lance has been great, and I will definitely do business with him again. :D
Sorry some of the pics are a little blurry, he didn't want to hold still!
Thanks so much to Lancecham! Even after all the issues with UPS, he's doing great!
First, I love the pics, especially the close ups! He's a very handsome guy. Second, I just finished reading about this. There are 2 different types. The ones with the bigger casques can get from 2.5 to 4.5 inches, while the smaller are 2.5-3.0 inches.
I know she didn't specify and I've never tried it with a cham, but maybe she meant to soak it like you would a beardie? If you put them in warm water they can absorb it through their vent (cloaca). Maybe that's what she meant.
Ok, I agree that the way people post tends to have many grammatical errors or misspellings. However, as a teacher I think it has to do more with the technological age we are in than the 'young and uneducated'. Think about how many people use texting or email as a form of communication. Do you...
"Also, like snakes, they lack an outer or a middle ear. This suggests that chameleons might be deaf, although it should be noted that snakes can hear using a bone called the quadrate to transmit sound to the inner ear. Furthermore, some or maybe all chameleons, can communicate via vibrations...
Does the fence have slats that she might be able to get her claws through? I hope you find her, I would definitely try the flashlight at night. Good luck!
I agree, but I also leave a feeding cup with crix in my cage. I make sure the crix have access to food too so they aren't climbing on the cham, and they are usually fine. Just make sure you leave a mister or dripper and you should be good to go!
