    Anyone keep seahorses?

I have always wanted to get into salt water/sea horses etc. but the startup is so intimidating for me. Thanks for the info.

    Chameleon still eating dirt!

I don't know but temporarily can you remove the rocks, lay down some weed barrier cloth, put the rocks back on? That way he can't get to the dirt and maybe it will discourage him.

    Total nub

I have not been to a chameleon or reptile expo, I have been to other animal expos and the prices were high and people seemed to purchase on impulse. I just think it would be best to go and really see what you need, maybe look online for prices as well before you go so you have an idea when you...

    Exploring the spare bedroom

Swyft enjoyed some outdoor time on the porch on his hibiscus but he was super restless. I had to redirect him about 5 times because he wanted off the plant and onto the porch railing. (which would not be good, it has a post that runs up to the roof) I fed him a cricket but he didn't appear...

    Total nub

I am new to chameleons as well. I'd suggest going to the expo but not purchasing. Go, learn, get excited, check out different types, learn how to set everything up, etc. Then order your setup, get it all ready for your new baby, figure out which room of the house will work best for its needs...

    New Cage

Yes, the sticks are fairly cheap and I just washed and scrubbed them first. Just for extra affect/design/climbing purposes. My cage looked pretty bare waiting for the pothos to grow but now that's filling out nicely.

    New Cage

Nice! My guy has some thin bamboo sticks running up diagonally from each of the bottom corners as well, if you are looking for something more to put in there. I have them in an X shape and they reach the entire length top to bottom so he can climb down lower if he needs to. What kind of...

    My new Setup ok?

I'm a newbie as well but I noticed you have the dome light directed downwards flat on top. Someone on here posted a cool picture showing how to angle it so the warm basking light shines into the same area as the uvb so the two affects are mixed. (which is how I have mine setup) Since you...

Insult his mother.:p Huh! He wont hiss and gape at you at all? I am a total new owner, but my first thought was what we do with hedgehogs. You wrap them gently in a towel, preferably having someone else hold them for you, and then gently press on the mouth opening with the syringe to pry it...

    Dubia Pricing?

I'm new, so I don't know about purchasing colonies, but the guy I buy them from is selling the dubias for 10 cents each so for 2,000 it would be $200. ouch.

    Sad News

psst, thank you for the night tip. I never would have thought of that and it will be good to know if this happens to me. I'm so sorry for your loss, astroprojector. Is it possible he was stolen? Very strange that his cage door would be opened, suspicious if you ask me. I'd watch Craig's...

    Swyft says its outdoor time!

I agree!! Its another beautiful day in Colorado, I had a long day at work, and my hibiscus is STUNNING right now! It has four huge flowers opened wide! We're heading out for fun in the sun. (ok and shade)

    Breakfast

Swyft was eager to see me today. I opened the zipper of his cage and he just sat at the front while I talked to him. I gave him three crickets dusted with Miner-All and two super worms, undusted, that have a carrot and an orange slice in their house. I hated to close the zipper on him, he...

Success with free-range moment in the room

Brought in his hibiscus, put it on a chair in front of his cage, opened the cage, and he found it, walked out on it and explored all over it. Then he wandered back to his cage, too sweet. I fed him two smaller superworms while he was on the hibiscus sort of a reward for being out I guess. I'm...
