If you own 2 or more chams, please post

I have 2 right now. A few years ago I had 5 adults, Panthers and Fischers and too many eggs and babies to count. It was wonderful and I'm "restocking" my Cham supply now. I can not think of a better hobby than animals as you are caring for something other than yourself. You are researching the...

Changing the plants in a Chameleons cage causes stress?

I don't know how big your cage is but normally Chams do best when separated. They are still young so I'd say watch them closely. Make sure they are eating and drinking...Jackson's stress quickly so i'd be concerned about the girl. These guys just need time to get used to things. But be prepared...

Changing the plants in a Chameleons cage causes stress?

I agree with the separate cages. Make sure the girl cant see the boy. My girl Jackson was the same age and she got got freaked out when the wind blew or I just looked at her. And try warm water when you mist them. And try not to actually mist her if she moves away from it. Just mist from above...

    Repashy for jackson

My Jackson's live outside. As a Montane species I don't want to over supplement them. The Repashy products r new and I haven't been using them long enuf on my Jackson's to know what's a great system. They don't have a product marked, "For Montane Species living outside". So I use the Calcium...

night spot light with out disturbing the cham?

I thot it was the red light that reps don't see....I've used them(a red light) before for night viewing on several species without problems...they all slept. I really don't think the lights disturbed them. White light of any degree will wake them up.

    More for meller?

im sorry...i just re read your post...the biggest cage you can manage is the answer. I didn't see a cage so i was thinking maybe you were going to free range him...so i suggested another tree. I'd still go taller. Meller's get so big and the branches need to be able to support his size and weight.

    More for meller?

I have never had a Meller's but I'd say with their size the whole thing needs to be taller and I'd attach another tree to it so he has someplace to go rather than just stuck on the one tree. Your creating an environment he wants to stay in so give him paths to navigate and places to go... It's...

so im looking into getting a chameleon soon!

Welcome. I don't want to discourage you from having a Cham, but I would not say they are a starter reptile. Chameleon's are not a forgiving pet to keep. Demanding, expensive for original costs and set up(compared to other reptiles), they need quiet space and a time commitment for misting and...
