Best Way to Get Your Cham to Eat Worms

Ok that's good to know! I just ordered the Dubias and Phoenix worms today, so I'll have them in a few days. still wondering if I should keep my dubias in the cricket keeper or not.. It can house about 75 crickets, it's about 1'x1'x1'. Anybody know if it can house dubia roaches?

New Set Up for Nosy Be Panther suggestions appreciated...

Ok great!:D Sounds like you're good to go. Not sure about the Hoffman and Foothills, but as long as they're organic, you're good to go in that department as well!

Best Way to Get Your Cham to Eat Worms

Nice. Is that freeroaming or cupfeeding? I really want to get some flys, but don't know how I would contain them. Yea, i'd feel bad not feeding him for a whole day:o That's what I've read. I hope that's the case! The butter worms were really lazy and I agree that's most likely why he...

New Set Up for Nosy Be Panther suggestions appreciated...

You say the cage temp is "85-90 degrees 7 feet away from the bulb".. So you mean at the bottom of the cage, it's THAT hot?? If that's the case, it's way to hot in the cage. What is the basking temp? The cage looks great by the way, but I'm worried about your temps, unless I just didn't read that...

Best Way to Get Your Cham to Eat Worms

I have a 4 month old male veiled. I've had him for exactly 3 weeks today:). So far he eats nothing but crickets, with the exception of him catching a few flies and nats when I've let him out in the grass to get some sunlight. I've tried to offer him butter worms thus far, and he has...

    Dripping Habba Mist

While it's unfortunate that you are having this issue, i think it also reveals that you need to create a drainage system. Even if you get a top notch system (ie Mist King), depending on the duration of mist sessions, you're going to have a LOT of water on the bottom of your enclosure. To ensure...

How do I create drainage in a small Reptibreeze cage?

Looks great! Good job Here's a little project I just completed over the weekend. I have a 2x2x3 cage I built, and made a drainage out of a vanity from Home Depot https://www.chameleonforums.com/newbies-1st-setup-w-drainage-nice-vanity-94711/

    Newbie's 1st setup w/ drainage (nice vanity)

Thank you very much. I tried to get him to cup feed a few times to encourage him to eat worms, but for some reason, he has no interest in worms:( He basically hunts for all his food. i make it a little easy for him and put the crickets on the screen so they climb up towards the top, then he...

    Oh my gosh.....

Nice! How do you put your little guy outside? On a plant, or do you hold him and then let him roam in the grass for a bit? I've been letting my little one roam in the grass, but not sure if that's the best method or not

    Oh my gosh.....

Koopa did that to me the ONE time I tried petting him on his back while holding him. He gripped his claws REALLY tight onto my arm.. Every time i pet, he gripped harder.. Guess he didn't like to be pet:rolleyes:

    My chameleon hates me!

I've cleaned my dude's cage a few times while he was in there. He was fine because I moved nice and slow, and almost showed him which way I was moving next prior to doing it you know? However, when I would accidently bump the cage or scoot one of his vines on accident, he'd get pissed and...

    Newbie's 1st setup w/ drainage (nice vanity)

Thank you! Yea, everything is hidden in the cabinet. Two buckets, all his supplements, and the mistking pump. I just have the tube running from the back of the vanity, up the cage and strapped with some black zipties. Worked perfectly:)

    Housing dubia

^Nice! I think I might try that out.. :eek:Are roaches really THAT good of escape artists?? To where they can get out of a cricket keeper? My crickets can't escape

    Newbie's 1st setup w/ drainage (nice vanity)

Thanks. And yea that's a good idea. I really like the fine mist that mistking gives. It's so thin that it doesn't escape the screen, which is great since my setup is near a tv and is against a wall. Anyway, thanks for all the feedback

    Newbie's 1st setup w/ drainage (nice vanity)

It's a brand new system. I actually just installed the vanity/drainage and mistking all on this past Saturday morning. It is a nozzle issue I believe. I'm using distilled water only. I'm currently awaiting a response from the guys at Mistking. I've heard such great things about their company on...

    My chameleon hates me!

I would try to hand-feed him. Get a cricket, remove one of it's hind legs, and let it crawl around in the palm of your hand and offer it to your cham. Delicious offerings are a good way to get it used to your hand. Also, I try to keep all my hand movements nice a slooow. Sudden movements are...

    Newbie's 1st setup w/ drainage (nice vanity)

So has anybody had the same issue with the mistking that I mentioned in the OP? The nozzle sprays great, but it drips a lot while it mists. That's why i have a cup on the bottom of the enclosure.
