Tough Love to Get Cham to Eat Dubias From Cup

Yea, I think I'll go with the method that worked yesterday evening. Just placing one dubia at a time on the screen, that way I can monitor how many are in the cage, and he can hunt one at a time. I basically placed one on the screen near his basking spot, he ate it, then I placed another. I...

Tough Love to Get Cham to Eat Dubias From Cup

So, good news and bad news: BAD NEWS: When I got home, Koopa hadn't eaten ANY of the dubias out of the cup.. He just refuses to get the easy meal :( GOOD NEWS: I removed the cup, then placed the dubias, one by one, on the screen and he ate each and every one of them. So, he likes dubias...

Gutload has made a huge difference

So is one cube sufficient for a day, or do you use multiple/day? Sounds really convenient

Is it true some chams don't like red

Hmmm.. Between their hate for the color red, and their infamous gangsta-lean while basking, I'm starting to become slightly suspicious about these chams :p :DIn all seriousness, I wore a bright red shirt yesterday for the first time around my cham.. in fact, I held him yesterday and he was...

    Mealworm size?

I recommend Phoenix Worms.. You won't regret it. You're cham will LOVE them. They're small, VERY active, and extremely high in calcium

Tough Love to Get Cham to Eat Dubias From Cup

I guess that's something I could try so they don't go to waste.. I guess crickets will remain my staple feeder.. Unless I can find a source that sells small grasshoppers or something, that would be an interesting feeder. Right now, I'd have to say my cham's favorite is phoenix worms, with...

    Silkworm question

From my understanding phoenix worms are different from super worms. Phoenix's are soldier fly maggots, also known as "calciworms" due to their high calcium content.

Tough Love to Get Cham to Eat Dubias From Cup

Yea, I've tried shaking the cup to stir them up and get a couple flipping upside down, and nothing.. When I put them on the screen, which is his preferred method of eating crickets usually, he ate a few, but the others just ran to the bottom of the cage where my guy won't go to hunt.. That's...

Tough Love to Get Cham to Eat Dubias From Cup

Thanks for the advice.. That's what I was afraid of, because as of late, he's growing like crazy and his appetite has been enormous.. With that being said, I thought that would benefit with this method, and that he would choose his appetite over his stubborness and give in.. I'm at work...

    Silkworm question

I can't comment on the silkworms, but have you thought about trying Phoenix worms?? They're extremely high in calcium, and stay alive for quite sometime in a small cup that they are shipped in, and basically don't need to be gutloaded. Your cham will run through them FAST..At least mine is right...

Tough Love to Get Cham to Eat Dubias From Cup

Not sure if this method will work, but I recently purchased about 75 dubia roaches and 75 Phoenix Worms from online to switch up my 4 month old veilds' diet. He previously only ate crickets, and loves them. Over the weekend, I introduced him to the Phoenix worms, he LOVED them. Ate about 12...

    Phoenix worms

I actually JUST received my order of Phoenix worms. Literally. I won't get home til later to give them to Koopa -BUT- all things that I have read about phoenix worms are that they are very good for chams and they have an extremely high content of calcium (to the point where you don't even need...

    Repashy Supervite

I've done a lot of searching on this forum, and I haven't found a discussion regarding Repashy's Supervite. Does anybody use this as your multi for your cham? If so, how often do you dose? The reason I would like to initiate a discussion on this product, is because the label suggests you can...

How Close Do Chams Need to be Able to Get to UVB Bulb

Thank you. Will take advice. I think I'm going to add a branch running somewhat parellel to the UVB about 6-8 inches from the top of the cage. it'll be his highest highway. Thank you all for your feedback.

What lighting for my veiled chams?

Yea like one other poster stated I'd go with the Reptisun 5.0 (tube bulb), and for the UVA that will be your basking bulb (typical house bulb is fine). And yea, your 87 degrease basking temp is good.

What lighting for my veiled chams?

switch from the coiled and go with the tube UVB. You have basking lights too, right?

How Close Do Chams Need to be Able to Get to UVB Bulb

No he edited it and said parallel.. So which is it!? lol:confused: I'm going to give him another branch today. Plan A is to have it be the highest horizontal branch he can crawl on, and it will be about 4-6 inches away from the UVB bulb, running parallel unless suggested otherwise by you more...
