Are these thermal burn marks? and some other questions.

Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - Female veiled Cham. She was given to me by a friend that can no longer have her. I've had her for around 1 month now. Im guessing she is around 4 months at the moment. Handling - The 1st two weeks I didnt handle her hand feeding was a common occurrence. Now...

    stress in handling??

You got lucky :) Thats a nice Cham. I have a female veiled and rarely climbs on my hands. Although she loves it when I carry her around in her taxi stick. ; 3 Thats what I use to transport her. A stick seems more trust worth than a hand to them. Once shes on the stick I hand feed her and when...

Setting up my new Terrarium-Need Help

I have a question about the light fixture. Does it just sit on top of the metal screen cage? Or does it need to be suspended above it? And if so, how? - Yes absolutely you can do that. That is what is commonly done. Just make sure that you have the right type of UVB bulb (5 to 10) and a right...

    100 watts for winter days?

Same here my apartment is not energy efficient at all either. Heating wise I have to depend on pants and long sleeves covered in jacket through the winter months. Ill probably use the 100 watt lamp and observe the temperature during the coldest time of the year.

When should I move "Chama" into his new home?

I just got a new enclosure for "chama" my pet veiled cham. It is a 44x23x23 enclosure, designed for an adult chameleon. I fear that he might still be too small for the cage. I'm not actually sure how old he is maybe the people of this forum can help me out. He is currently in his grow out cage...

    he's a lil dink

The best solution for transporting veiled is by using a "stick taxi". I have a veiled cham, he can be a twerp sometimes but love him none the less :3 When he is in his cage hover a stick close to him and give him a fe taps on his tail signalling that he should move to the stick. I should warn...

    100 watts for winter days?

I have a young adult veiled and yeah the temp goes down to 65 till my heater kicks in brings it back to 75 and keeps it there. I generally like the cold thats why my settings are such.

    100 watts for winter days?

I have been thinking of uping up the wattage in my bulbs for winter. Since the room temperature can go down even drastically during winter (cant afford to keep it on all the time) Is it alright if I do so? I plan on keeping away from the cage itself around 12 inches mount from the top of the...

    New Veiled Chameleon

Congratulations on your 1st cham :3 Seems like a nice set up to me. Although a pic of the cage would be great. he might not have enough things to climb on thats why he is all over his cage. They like to be high, make sure you have criss-crossing beams that sits up high for him to climb on. I...
