Ive know about those calcium substrate mainly used for geckos for a while now and it just occurred to me that since they are "edible" is it possible to use them when youre mixing up your feeder substrate? Wont that increase the calcium content of your feeder insects? Price wise they seem to be...
I was just looking into some Muellers earlier and man they are beautiful creatures! I wanted to have one but the care and especially enclosure requirements can be demanding. Dont even get me started on sailfin dragons! I want one so bad! Its the closest thing to having a dinosaur/dragon in your...
hahaha!! You guys sound so pessimistic! I like it! In a serious note though, I had the same behavior when I had my female veiled. She was sweet and would just climb on my hand any time. Now shes a b*tch! x) I still care deeply for her though :)
My male on the other hand is just territorial...
Any more details on your silk breeding project? If you dont mind. Im trying to get into breeding silks for my chams right now. Im gathering info and buying eggs from mulberry farms this coming January.
Damn... Im gonna be really busy in this next semester for college. I think I wont be able to be as successful as I thought into this. I have 2 juvenile chams so feeding them new hatchings wont do them any good.
Ill try anyways just for experience. Ill see how far I can go and learn from there...
I have 2! Strange enough I want more! Just wait till I move to a bigger place. Im planning on getting at least 1 more cham (which means at least 2 :P ), looking at 1 bearded dragon, some sort or iguana or a tegu and a hedgehog. Just to mix it up a bit :D
I see, interesting. Im just trying to...
Thank you oh great one. I swear on my 25th born son I wont do it again. :P
Thank you, all I saw was "breeding" and just zoomed in on it :)
I keep getting that same answer. Hmmm.. I think I'm gonna go with silks instead. Quick question what are your food source from them?
Well damn.. I posted it in the wrong section of the forums. Apologies... Can a mod move it to the right section or should I just delete this and start a new one?
I was thinking of breeding some additional source of feeders for my chams but I came to a conclusion that in order for me to distribute my time in a more realistic fashion I should focus on a few feeders for now. I currently have a dubia colony they are really easy to breed! Im planning on...
I knew there must be something wrong with those lady bugs! Pardon my lack of knowledge in this area. Im currently thinking of breeding blue bottle flies to feed my future mantis and chams too. Damn who knew feeding chameleons can be this tricky :P
Seems like a good idea. Transparent cups are easy to get a hold of. Ill use those. Crickets and fruit flies huh.. Im not too fond of crickets in my place. The smell is just too much for me. Although I will look into fruit flies. What are the temperature requirement and breeding procedure and...
I have 2 juveniles veiled chams. A picky male and a food guzzling female. I actually have no accurate date of their age. I rescued both of them from friends who could no longer keep them.
This might seem crazy probably a bad idea but whats your thoughts on lady bugs as feeders. They are incredibly cheap online and the bright colors will attract any chameleons attention plus the flight and fast movement seem like a perfect fit for a picky cham.
I tried looking it up on search...
I recently ordered this from amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LTFMAY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2 Mantis egg cases with decent reviews I thought it would be a good deal? Now I'm second guessing myself. First, housing these bugs needs to be housed separately or the...
That line was epic! Also the part where he says, A lizard that got all tricked out by the old guy in James Bond movies that hands out those cool little spy toys. I would love to make that as my signature, but sadly it wont accept it.
WOW! Those are some good looking and functional free ranges! Nice work. I wish I have and extra room to allow this sort of thing :D
And the books there give a nice place to read :)
Where do you get your silks? I heard that some are sprayed so that they wont breed. One of my veileds only prefers crickets and they are a pain to breed! Loud, messy and smelly! I prefer my dubia and supers any day! Would love to breed silks and hornworms too though.
