Not to take away from the cute moments, one other option for water for the Beardies is to soak them. Put them in a tub of warm water - no deeper than would cover their back when they are laying...

Not necessary. Others may have different opinions though.
I just use a large plastic storage bin - something like this:
I made a frame with a screen to put over the top when it is being used and then I just put the lid back on to store.
I also make sure to put a 60 watt basking lamp shining into the bucket when the rep is laying

I just got a message from my wife that Karma is laying!!! Not getting our hopes up as this is her first clutch. And amazingly, it only took one hook-up with the boy for success.
