Here is a good thread on knowing when she is ready to lay. Also, my girl was wandering around the bottom of her enclosure (which she never does), Not necessary. Others may have different opinions though.

I just use a large plastic storage bin - something like this: I made a frame with a screen to put over the top when it is being used and then I just put the lid back on to store. I also make sure to put a 60 watt basking lamp shining into the bucket when the rep is laying
