Tried to take pics of "it" but my camera skills cant keep up with a young chameleons (Suprising) speed.
I know being young it can be difficult but any opinions?
Silkworm and mullberry not feeding might be due to having Morus nigra leaves, I remember sometime in college that Silkworm feed almost solely on Morus alba leaves
I'm meant to be getting my first Panther this week, It will be 3 months old, Is this setup ok?
I have a reptibreeze 2x2x4 divided in half as I understand that large enclosures for small Chams can cause issues with hunting (thanks @patrickfraser)
I have a reptisun 5.0 and a heat bulb, Also...
Thanks Carlton, I suppose it's my roundabout way of getting that point across, as long as a fertiliser with the normal N-P-K ratio is used in the planting media it should be safe to feed your plants as well as your animals. Just ensure the Chemicals aren't in direct contact with your animal
Ficus benjamina , which I assume you have, can't alter the stomata in it's leaves (small holes used for gass exchange). So when the plant is moved to a new climate (change in humidity, temperature or watering regime) without acclimatising, it sheds its leaves but should quickly regrow new ones...
Question on fertiliser, basically they are naturally occurring elements that plants require to grow, so is it just the chameleon being in contact with them rather than the plant having access to them that would be the issue? I'm sure that pesticides would be a greater issue as these arent...
Chameleon info you lot on here are teaching me, plants is where my knowledge currently lies. I've read over and over the use of ficus, schefflera, potshots and hibiscus, has anyone got anything else in their enclosures? I mean there seem to be a load of plants on the 'safe' lists but I have...
Ficus have a tendency to shed dramatically when there's a change in temperature or humidity due to the leaves stomata not being able to adjust, once the initial leaves are dropped new ones should grow which should be more tolerant of the current conditions, don't chuck just be patient.
I have just ordered a Reptibreeze XL, If I make a tray to sit in the bottom and then put the rocks on a piece of say egg crate above this, I would be able to access the tray through the lower door and remove any debris that falls through the rocks/egg crate.
Any Ideas if this would be ok or...
Hi, I have read that young Chameleons shouldnt be put in anything too large for hunting issues, I was planning on getting a reptibreeze XL for my first Veiled Cham, Would it be better to use a smaller enclosure to begin with? A local pet shop is selling chams only a few inches long. If this is...
