I just got a really close up look at it and i'm positive that it's shed skin that didnt quite shed all the way as opposed to swollen scales or a problem with his actual eye. I could wet him down real good, but isnt there a risk of bacterial/fungal infection if the skin doesn't come off and...
I come home for lunch and everything is fine. I get home for the day and i see that my chameleon has what appears to be some scales around his eye that didn't fully come off in his last shed, which was just a day or two ago. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it and can still see but they're...
I've got another little update of pictures taken today. Please excuse the second one. I was trying to get a closer shot and he moved on me so the flash is a little off. I've still yet to capture his true reds coming through, this is close enough.
anyone know how i can get a hold of a copy of the reptiles magazine that featured chameleon company? I'd prefer a hard copy but a computer version would be suitable too.
Another Update.
i've got another update for you guys. He was pretty laid back in the earlier picture. here's what he looks like fired up.
and now for the close-up
those look great. i've really started to warm up to the ambanjas.
oh yeah i agree that the dog breed is a bad analogy, but it's usually one of the easiest to explain to get the general idea across. I dont think that panthers have no where near the potential to be as diverse even if they...
ok so in order to avoid hi-jacking a photogallery thread i'm gonna start my own here in hopes to get a few answers or perhaps just get pointed in right direction as to where to look. If anyone has any other questions/topics they want to talk about, throw them out there and we'll get answers...
it's not exactly either, but if i had to pick one, i'd say the latter because there are clear differences between the locales(lab and basset). Granted, there are obvious variations within locale, but individual locales have common features.(black vs yellow lab, but it's still a lab)
But you...
i guess you have also take into account how long and how many generations of dogs have been bred as opposed to reptiles. I'd imagine with enough breeding, any one species could have that amount of diversity. However the problem is the number of our lifetimes it would take to get to that point...
comparing breeds of dogs to locales is much closer than comparing breeding two separate species to mixing breeds of dog. Dogs are the same species from the tiniest little toy poodle right on up to great danes. They've just been bred out so many times that they look different. Veileds and...
mine was 6:30-7:30 but my timer kinda gets off every month or so and i havent changed it lately so right now it's about 15 min slow, same photoperiod though.
it's all personal preference. 24x24x48 i'd say is min. for male veileds and panthers. I'm about to move my male panther into a 36x18x48. Man that thing is big, i'm thinking of moving in it myself.
if you're willing to ship them, i'll buy them off you. i've bumped 2 roach threads in the misc. for sale but haven't gotten any response yet. i was just looking for about 10 adults but everything i see for sale on the distributor sites are 100 lots. That is of course if you can't get your...
