No, get a regular household incandescent like I stated above. That will be the bulb to use for basking. There is no need for the special basking bulbs. Just make sure your basking temp is the correct temp according to the caresheet.

If mushrooms are growing it sounds like the soil is waterlogged as mushrooms like really wet soil. I would try to get better drainage.

I have a nice feeder cup that I made that the crickets can't jump out of. I am able to see if they are all gone or not. My guy that is 3.5 months old is eating about 20 small to medium crickets a day right now.

You want it in a place that will give the most coverage. In my cage I put 2 nozzles on the top of the cage and I can get about 95% of the cage. The only part that does not get any is the basking spot as they do need to be able to get away from it if they want to.

If you are not getting the temp listed in the care sheet then try a higher wattage bulb. They need the warmer temps in order to properly digest their food.

I use bug burger that has cricket crack mixed into it so it solidifies into the gel. My crickets go crazy for it. I am going to get some dino fuel to mix in as well. I also provides different fruits and veggies to them as well.
