    Hello! Meet Rupert!

Very cute! They grow real fast. We planned on getting our guy a new cage for Christmas and ended up having to get it last month, he was 5 months old!

    My cat

I don't know where you live but I am in Illinois and there is a FB page called Lost cats of IL where people post their lost cats and they also post cats they've found. Maybe your state has one or another type of online community where people post information about lost and found pets.

    My cat

I hope he comes home. We just watched this show about how they put trackers on cats to monitor where they went when they weren't in the house. Most of them did stay close to home. I would take a walk and look for him and bring some treats with.

which fruits and veggies can Chameleon's not eat?

I feed my veiled the same things I feed my bearded dragons. Dandelion leaves, collards, mustards greens. He seems to really like shredded zucchini and sweet potato.

    I need help (the cage)

I have a bare bottom except for some paper towels under some containers that catch water. Makes it so much easier to clean up poop. Especially since my guy likes to go on the top of one of the containers.

    Watermelon??

I've used the rinds before for my super worms.

    Things my veiled hates: ME

I can't handle mine either. I don't expect him to be affectionate but I do need him to trust me enough to take him out of his cage especially if there is an emergency. Some days are better than others and I try to be patient with him. Today he stayed at the front of his cage and let me stand in...

how often do you handle them

I learned yesterday the importance of getting them used to some handling. I had an emergency with my little veiled and had a heck of a time trying to get him out of his cage. I eventually got him on my hand a few times but couldn't get him out. Then I just stopped trying because I didn't want to...

    Know Your Pupae...

When I first raised my own hornworms. I kept the pupae in a critter keeper full of coco substrate next to my beardies tank at room temp maybe even a bit warmer because of the tank lights. They were there for about a month and I completely forgot about them until one night I found a moth had hatched.

    Chameleons make me paranoid !!!!!!

I think you always worry about the first one after that you don't obsess over everything. I obsessed over my first bearded dragon for a year once I got the second one I didn't worry so much. Now when we got our veiled my boyfriend is the one that is obsessing over everything and I am just...

    Cat keeps releasing chameleon!

I was in the reptile room cleaning the chameleon cage and opened the bottom, the cat was sitting right next to me turning her head like she was watching how it opened LOL! Luckily one side sticks real good and I can barely get it open. We put a poster frame in front of the tank, she can't...

    Cricket left in overnight

I always figure the crickets would eat the plants before they try to eat my chameleon.

    Cat keeps releasing chameleon!

Wow! I never thought about the cat being able to open the bottom of the cage. I'm always just worried about mine pulling the cage down with her claws.

    Ants...

I would think it's not okay to feed them to your chameleon. I had a similar situation with my cricket tank. I keep them in my basement and ants went straight for the food. someone told me you could put cinnamon around your feeders and the ants won't get to them. My landlord has an eco friendly...

    WTF is this bug?

I know this is an old post but I just went on The Field Museum of Chicago's facebook page and they have a picture of a katydid and a tarantula hawk together. They look very similar only the katydid has longer wings and longer legs.

    Hornworm Breeding Journey PICTURES

I left mine in eco earth and made sure it stayed moist. I put some sticks in the dirt and when they hatched they made their way to the sticks and climbed out.

    Schefflera's Anywhere?

I got mine off of Amazon from a place called Hirts's Garden. It was very nice! It came in a 6" pot I transferred it to a bigger pot when I got it and after 2 weeks it's about 2 feet tall. I paid like $15 for it. I also happened upon a smaller one at Whole Foods of all places for $5! That one is...

    Baby Veiled Chameleons

Mine is 2 months and you can definitely see the spur. I would take a picture for you but he still doesn't let me get close.

    New male baby veiled chameleon

I also got my veiled from FL Chams a few weeks ago! It's like a little family here :) We have a dripper that drips all day and a mist system that automatically mists a few times a day. He's still a little afraid of us but seems to be coming around. A few days ago I started putting the crickets...
