    superworms need help

Hey, you're welcome. One thing I want to add is after you have beetles I would move them to a new drawer after a couple of weeks. Because once the baby worms start to grow even though you can't see them very easily, they will chow down on your beetles. I lost quite a few breeders to this. It...

    superworms need help

Are you talking about the small containers that I force the worms to pupate in? I got everything at Walmart. The small containers were in the sports section, fishing/tackle box. They were less than $4 I think. I got the small boxes and they have 24 sections in them. I have 4 boxes pupating at...

    superworms need help

The 2" length is to ensure they are old enough. If you put a worm that is not old enough they will die as they are not ready. It's like taking a 6 year old kid and making him go out and get a job to support the family, he's just not ready at that age. So back to the worms, pick worms that are...

    question about propagating supers

There is not really any way to speed up the process. I think mine took about 2 months before I realized I had baby supers. A warmer temps are good, if they get cold they slow down. I was anxious too at first.

I need some brotherly(or sisterly) assistance!

Sounds good but I don't have 80 bucks right now. I just went school supply shopping and that came up a hundred bucks! Jeesh! I haven't even been shopping for clothes yet. Good thing I have a boy who is not interested in clothes yet.

What happened to all the Silkies???

I didn't have any problems breeding them, but getting the eggs to hatch didn't happen no matter what I did. Of all the eggs I had only a few were unfertilized so I should have had thousands of silkies. Just didn't happen. I don't know if there is a trick that is different than the ones you buy.

I need some brotherly(or sisterly) assistance!

I haven't been feeding him crickets, and I have been using the cup feeding method. Once I get this thing built I'll use a bigger cup. He seems to have grown 4" in the last 2 weeks, is that even possible? I have been feeding him roaches, silkworms, horn worms, and super worms.

I need some brotherly(or sisterly) assistance!

I did not get the metal hardware net. It's plastic 1/4" but it seems to be heavy duty. I'm not going to use it for the top on account of the lights. I bought water sealant for the wood, so maybe it will work? I used this wood because I already had it.

I need some brotherly(or sisterly) assistance!

I'm finally building my veiled a new pad. I'm technically carpentry impaired, so forgive my crudeness. If you remember I got him a month ago from someone and he has MBD. He's on the road to recovery and I think he is 2x the size he was when I got him. On to my building... I have a 4x2x2 frame...

I just got a new baby beardie!!!

I think 120 is a bit high. For a baby I'd shoot for 105-110. As she gets older she may like it cooler than that. Mine likes it about 100. I can get you to a good forum with lots of good info if you want.

    Give up on the roaches?

Well my first question would be how are you keeping them and what kind of temps are they getting? If you keep your house at 60-70 degrees and they have no extra heat that for sure could cause extremely slow breeding. The low temps would also cause the oothecaes (eggs) to take a very long time in...

    Madagascar hissing roaches

How funny! I'm not brave enough to put them on my shirt yet. They are finally starting to settle down and not hiss every time I go in the room. Let me tell you 4am feeding time is too early for all that hissing! I don't actually feed them that early but I have some herps that I need to get set...

    Madagascar hissing roaches

Why Thank you, um , I guess. I have to say that was kind of odd. I'm not really a roach person. I have them and I take care of them because they save me from having to buy a lot of feeders. Although I don't use the hissers as feeders. They were kind of a trade for some other roaches I had and...
