The wiring is pretty simple. I forgot to show a picture, but on the other side of that box is just a common household light switch that i wired the two lights to so the whole cage plugs in with one cord, and both lights turn on and off with the flick of a switch. :)

Well after about a month of construction and around $120 I have finally finished! All I need to do now is add a few fake plants in there to fill it out, maybe find a way to fit a pothos in there too.

I ordered some from premiumcrickets.com once, but they forgot to put the heat pack in with them and about 3/4 of them perished. They said they would add that amount to my next order for free, but then I'll have too many crickets. I think it was just a mistake though, since i have heard nothing...
I never witnessed my male veiled drink until over a month after I got him, and have only seen him drink once more since then. I think they can just be shy about drinking. If his feces have a nice whitish urate, then he should be okay. If it is yellow or non-existent then he is not getting enough...
i have heard that those storebought "growlights" dont really help plants, but just make them look nicer. maybe they are just a supplement to natural light? im no expert, thats just what i have heard in the past. maybe someone else will know for sure?

i have a huge roll of wire screen in my basement that is about 1/2" squares that i was planning on using. i still cant decide though because i like watching him hunt, not cup feed haha, but i think the screen i have now will look nicer than aluminum
im thinking about doing a screen bottom with a tray underneath to collect water and feces. has anybody done this? anybody know of any potential problems?
you could try putting the water dish back down there and see if she drinks from it and goes back up? maybe shes just used to the water dish and doesnt understand drinking from the dripper yet?
dang, i just glued it last night. oh well live and learn, right? Ill just make sure and spray many coats of poly on there. i was even thinking about siliconing the joints where the most water would collect. thanks for the advice/compliments, ill keep you all updated on progress. i have to move...
