I do once a year unless i think something is wrong, then i go every 6 months. Sometimes I go (every 6 months) just to go and have them checked up, just to make sure everything is good with them :)
I have a question about their different skins.
I was wondering why Panthers skin seems to be more rubbery/oil like?
When i mist my panther the water beads right off of him as if he was dipped in oil, but my veil just looks like a soggy leaf.
Why is that?
THANKS! :)
What works with me is if i lay the hornworm on my hand and blow on it gently that way it moves a little. It takes both my chams almost a full minute to even look at them, that or i poke them with my finger. If you wiggle them a lot they will become interested.
I fed my veiled chameleon a little bit of fruit every now and then- like a piece of a watermelon or strawberry as a treat.
It is more important to make sure that all of your feeders (crickets/worms) are being fed fruits and veggies before you give them to your chameleons.
If you type in...
Hey guys!
I want to switch to a better vet, one more focused on chams.
I found 2 in central florida (orlando) area, about 1 hour from where i live.
Dr. Alfonso
and
Dr. Bogoslavsky
i wanted to know if either one is better or more experienced than the other?
Or if there was one that you...
They really do like you more if you associate yourself with good things. It took a few months for my veiled to trust me, but now she runs on me and we can go sit outside together because she knows she gets treats when she is with me. In the morning she crawls down from her habitat and waits by...
My little veiled loves to sleep in between things- i have a rack type thing that goes from the floor to her hanging habitat and she squeezes herself between it and sleeps there.
My male panther sleeps on the same stick every night and he almost makes a circle of himself its adorable !
I emailed someone in the company to let them know. I'm going to keep an eye out on my crickets and if I even see another hint I'm going to switch. :) thank you so much for the advice!
The first day I opened the box I picked out the love ones. And after 2 days some started to die again they would fall on their back and their legs would twitch and then they died.
This is the first time it ever happened and I've been getting my crickets from Flukers for 2 years now. I do fecals on my chams at least every 6 months if not more frequently and nothing showed up.
But then I waited 3 weeks for new ones and this happened.
I should toss them correct? And will...
I had an issue with my crickets when I realized they hadnt been shipped to me in over 3 weeks when I was supposed to get them every 2. I emailed the company and I got my crickets 3 days later. When I opened the box about 20 were dead. Which I understand happens. Especialy when 1000 are crammed...
That's awesome! I have a pet he's a jerk. But if I bring out a hornworm he suddenly loves me!
I think our Chams are so adventurous they have a huge curiosity. I love it!
I couldn't find a multivitamin at any pet store. Do you know the name of one specifically?
I've tried. He has no interest. My other cham doesnt mind. But he likes to run.around and catch his own food.
• Your Chameleon – Blue Barr Panther Chameleon, Male, about 5 months, in my care for about 1.5 months.
• Handling – Every day, He runs around a lot, so I like to check up on him. Plus he enjoys getting out of his cage.
• Feeding – mostly crickets, as many as he can eat in 5 minutes (usually...
