Oh, and there were no branches in the "fight" because I hadn't exactly planned on the shoving match, it just sorta happened. I have a few plants and tree's in the yard, but if they get too high it's hard to get them down...much easier to let 'em roam around in the grass for a bit to get some...
Hey guys, I'm glad to see that some of you enjoyed it, but sad that some of you didn't.
Some things to take into consideration: I didn't egg them on...I actually had them pretty far from each other, but once they spot each other, their natural instincts kick in and their quest for dominance...
yeah, i mean i'm standing right there when it happens...which has only been a few so far. but i just feel like they deserve to get out every once in a while, and once they're getting tired, i break them up and put them back.
I apologize in advance cuz I have no answer to your question. But I'm curious as well because I bred my Jackson a few months ago and now and lately she's been dark in her cage. Wondering if maybe she's uncomfortable or scared or something that's causing her to stress out. Be nice to know.
congrats! i might be having jackson babies soon...i'd be stoked but nervous at the same time. they'd be so much fun, i think, as long as there weren't too many of them.
I battle my Jacksons once in a while...closely monitored though, so it's mostly just a shoving match. Check it out:

Karma, I was actually thinking I'd put about 3-4 per container? To my knowledge, no reason to separate them for the first 3-4 months (although correct me if I'm wrong of course). I'm hoping I won't need more than about 4 containers. Either way, I will search around youtube for ideas for sure...
Thanks for all the help everyone...seems like the unanimous consensus is that yes, she is pregnant, but that she won't be due for a little while. Which is great, since we just recently placed an offer on a house to purchase so our budget is tight. Overall, I definitely intend of going through...
Deku, I've heard to wait at least until they're a year to a year and a half before you attempt to breed them, but that may be more of a rule of thumb since age doesn't necessarily mean they'll be of size...seems like they don't grow as big/fast in captivity as they would when out in the wild...
Thank you for the responses...yes lily, she is rather large...much larger than our other female xanth, who I was planning on breeding with my two males. At this point, the 3 of them are around 1.5yrs old and are nowhere close to Fergie (our prego xanth pictured above). So for now, I'm just...
just wanna add that it's possible she might get pregnant again before he even breeds them. jackson females have been known to retain sperm for multiple clutches. i have a few jacksons but don't yet have breeding experience, but i would say 6 months would be good for her to recuperate.
Hey guys, so I have a wild caught Jackson Chameleon that we think is most likely pregnant and possibly even giving birth soon...we got her a little over 2 months ago, and she already seemed possibly pregnant back then. I know my way around Jacksons fairly well, but have no prior experience with...
I know all too well what you mean laurie! My girl seems open to breeding with my guys but i know once she starts putting out clutches, her lifespan will shorten drastically. I've progressed in leaps and bounds w/her since first getting her so just trying not to get ahead of myself lol.
cute pic, i recently acquired a wc jackson and believe she may be pregnant...she has that extra curve in her stomach that none of my other jacksons have so i'm kinda worried!
that's horrible...sorry for your loss, but you're only doing what's best for her! if she ever improves i'd be willing to donate so u could get her back, so let us know!
