chamelonforums
I go on the forums whenever I want. My boss likes to look at the pictures of the chameleons, she thinks theyre very interesting creatures.
Ficus
Ficus don't do well with a ton of water. Basically you want to water it only when the soil feels dry a few inches down. I'm with Brad on this one.
hm...
Just to play a little devil's advocate... i watch movies in my room almost every night and have 3 chams sleeping in the same room they stay sound asleep all night. I just make sure the chams have several spots where there is a wall of foliage, they seem to feel more secure and will sleep...
adding on
Adding on to what Brad said, THERE ARE ROACHES EVERYWHERE and that includes Yemen. There are roaches in nearly every biome on the earth, probably with the exception of Tundra and Taiga biomes. Veileds love roaches just as much as the next cham. I have 3 chameleons and all 3...
chams
Yah i'm with Justin on this one... You can really count on tru quality from a place like Kammers (not to take anything away from Vegas Chad, haven't seen any of his inventory). Chad's ballpark figure is a fair price as well. Kammers will probably be right around there, maybe even a...
fines
Don't know that i'd risk getting a heft fine trying to get feeders for my lizard. I'm sure someone would ship to Florida, I personally will not and I know just about every online business won't. It's not 100% true to say that they don't infest your house, especially in Florida. That is...
roaches
the meat:shell ratio is superior to crickets. takes less roaches to fill your cham's belly as well. I recommend dubia. Roach care is similar to cricket care only with more humidity and heat, but you won't have half of your roaches die off in a week unlike crickets. Theyre survivors...
feeding
Generally from my experience you should offer a young, growing cham as much food as he can eat. What I did with my chams was let about 60 crickets or so loose in the enclosure and then just remove the ones left over at night before his bedtime. I only dust once every couple of feedings...
Brad
I def. second that. I have fat, healthy, and happy chameleons and softer shelled roaches are their staple. They are easy to gutload, live longer, and you can feed less of them to your cham and fill their belly all the same.
middle
the middle one is depth I believe....
I would def. recommend aluminum caging. LLL reptile has good deals like said before..
On a different note, I've seen my male veiled fall twice, well heard him actually. I ran in there to look to see if he was alright and he was just all black...
chams
Chameleons are an animal you don't want to take shortcuts with. Some enclosures do have 3 sides that are screen and 2 sides that are glass, but i would recommend getting or making an all screen enclosure (other than the framing and the floor of the enclosure).
It would be in my...
