That's the same problem I ran into, I totaled up to over $75 by the end of the list.
You can buy cricket crack here: http://tikitikireptiles.com/products.php?id=48
I switch up my gut-loading weekly, this week I am using collard greens, carrots, oranges, and cricket crack.
Mine will sometimes go to his usual sleeping branch about an hour before the lights go off.
Does your cham shut his eyes or anything, or just move to that spot?
I never said gutloading wasn't important, I was clearing up the misinformation. No need to get upset about it, but don't try to force others into following unnecessary gutloading techniques. Alternating fruits and veggies along with some dry food such as Cricket Crack is more than enough.
I have heard the worst is on the rib cage and chest, since it's right on the bone. I can't wait to get my half-sleeve done, been working on the design since I was 18, and now 6 years later I am finally going get it done, at least hopefully. I am being really picky with the artist, I went to a...
I know a lot of members here handle their chameleons, I am just not sure of how often. Hopefully some other memebers will chime in with better answers. :D
I am currently struggling to get my chameleon used to being handled, I put it off at first and now it's a waiting game.
So any word on the toxicitiy? I searched around online, not a single page I found claims it's toxic, so I have no idea where the other person got their info. Hmmmm.
You're taking gut-loading to the extreme, most members on here rely on fruits/veggies for gutloading and it's more than enough to keep a chameleon healthy. Claiming they need to hunt down hard to find ingredients is just going to cause new members to either be turned off on chameleon keeping, or...

And to answer your question, chameleons aren't really meant to be handled often from my understanding, but your veiled seems very friendly and doesn't seem to mind being handled. Since she is so young I think handling now would be...
Mine usually does too, but I would like to eventually be able to take him outside so he can bask in the sun. I also need to move some of the plants around since one died.
I actually took cuttings off my moms, and she purchased it over 7 years ago from Home Depot. I am not sure if they sell them there anymore, I have never seen them myself.
MBD takes time to develop, it's not an overnight thing. How old is your chameleon? Are you only using calcium? You should also be using calcium with D3 and a multi twice a month.
Are you gutloading your feeders properly?
When is the show? I might make the drive down there. From Gilbert it should only be about an hour to get down there, I make it there in 90 minutes from the Happy Valley and the I-17.
Unless you want to spend over $100, I wouldn't suggest using that recipe. That user also suggested I follow that recipe for gutload, personally I find switching up fruits/veggies much more affordable and easier than searching 100 stores for the obscure items.
