Looks like you severely overpaid. Here is what I paid for the same items:
Dual Fluorescent Fixture - $26
UVB Bulb - $18
Gutload - $15-$20 for all 3
Timer - $5 from Walmart
You only need to use 3 supplements, not 4. At full size, calcium every other day, calcium with d3 twice a month, and a multivitamin twice a month. No need to use reptavite since it's a multivitamin as well, unless that's the main multivitamin you're using than that's fine.
Here is a good blog...
I do some app development on the side, if I was to develop a custom app specifically for the forum would anyone be interested?
We would we able to add any info/databases from the site as well, so you can check safe plants and feeders while out on the road or at shows.
Not really sure how...
Yeah I am addicted tot his plant, I got some more growing in the kitchen now by the window, I plan to use them for outdoor basking.
These things grow like crazy, I had 2 more pop up this weekend and already grew 4-5".
I use a regular humidifer, I run it for 2 hours in the morning on a very low setting, gets the enclosure all nice and foggy before I go to bed (I work overnight).
You could always try using a shower curtain inside the enlcosure, block off 1-2 sides which will help too, but it will cut down on...
I am thinking it's someones lost pet, I always hate seeing those "lost my chameleon outside". Maybe throw up an ad on craigslist, or put up a flyer around your neighborhood and see if anyone lost their chameleon.
You might have only seen the urate the first time, usually the urate seperates form the poop.
My chameleon always has black/solid piece with a white piece, I have never seen anything yellowish.
That's a nice Veiled chameleon! If you're new to chameleon keeping, I would start by reading some of the general car sheets found online, such as these:
http://www.veiledchameleoncaresheet.com/
http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/
The only things that should be in the enclosure are plants and some vines/branches, and your themrostat and hydrometer. You also need a ubv light and basking light on top.
Was there specific things you were looking to add? Or anything you added and was unsure about?
I know the whole thing about earwigs is a myth, but I think it would still freak me out to find some in my house!
If you search on the forum, earwigs have been discussed before here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/feeding-earwig-26668/
Like any wild insect, it's not a good idea to feed them...
Wash the plant and the roots with soapy water, and replant in clean soil. I prefer to use a sterilized soil, it will come bug free compared to some of the organic soils I have used which gave me a nasty gnat infestation.
I just got a new schleffera from Home Depot for only $10, I would check...
That looks amazing! I can't wait until my veiled get's his colors in more, he's showing some bright turquoise stripes down his side when he gets fired up, can't wait to see what else he gets.
