theres a bunch, im not in the usa so i cannot say which one is the best, but i just cant pick one and show favoritism, all our sponsors will take great care of you and your cham in regards to shipping and giving you a quality cham.
i commend you though on the decision of wanting a male...
if she comes out of the hole and goes back up on her vines for a day, still looking like there are eggs, dont you think there is some kind of a problem? i know what you're saying, but i am not implying taking her out of the hole by any means nessecary
agree, frilled lizards need to run, move alot and climb. please do not get a reptile unless you know for sure you can meet all of it's needs in captivity, this is the same for basilisk lizards as well, two popular in the trade that i am aware of that need very large enclosures to thrive.
my girfriend has had two veileds, her female escaped one time when we were out and we found her on a sun glass rack by her cage all dark and pissy cuz she was gravid, she was hissing and trying to get away and ended up falling, her male was on a plant in the living room, and ive never seen such...
you need to get her to a vet asap to get an xray and if needed an oxytocin treatment. you need to do this in the laying stages, if left to become egg bound, she will need a spay surgery to get it out
veileds can be sexed at birth, as stated, by the tarsal spur (bump on his back heal)
panthers are determined more around the juvenile stage by the base of the tail and a hemipenial buldge. a thicker tail base means male.
cantgetagoodsn, that video has been posted on here so many times, lol, it never gets old.. anyways, i will add to the rest saying that chameleons that "jump" do it at their readiness. a part of a chameleons last deffence is jumping, and wether or not it is deffence or just a leap, a fall cannot...
how can embryos be produced without sperm? hehehe honest question but a silly one. :) nah im just kidden, its forum humor ;) they do need to be fertile, the only way i would find it worth incubating without knowing if shes bred or not would be if you got her at a petstore or an unknown supplier...
is she still in there? if she comes out and nothing has looked accomplished (shes still fat, or doesnt look too much thinner) you will need to bring her to the vets right away for oxytocin shots, one may do it, but it could go above that. keep us posted, hope ruru pops them suckers out :)
no, even for a veiled i wouldnt go 90 for an adult. heres what i believe in regards to veiled temperatures;
babies - 75-78
juveniles - 78-80
sub adult/adult females - 80-82
sub adult males - 80-85
adult males - 85-88
hey andy, i have built a cage in similar to these dimensions. it was 2 deep, 3 wide, 4 tall. heres a pic it was the same thing, but in all honesty, it isnt worth it. there is so much room for just one cham, it is harder to spot clean, and the fact that the forums vote no against substrate...
sorry for no responses untill today friend, my only guess is that it could be cricket bites (cysts) or a fungal infection of somesort. lets eliminate the obviouses, do you leave crickets in the enclosure at night?
sounds good buddy. you can always get zoomed's mite off and give that a spray on her body anyways. di that fir a couple days just incase. im sure it isnt harmful to get it in their eyes, it is meant to spray all over the animal head to tail. so im sure it wouldnt be an irritant
give her a nice long hydration shower, like texas panther man said, try washing the eyes out with saline solution too. you might want to up a little bit more on plain calcium to help strengthen her incase your cham falls again
new ones are fine, they have done a lot of reinventing, but still some uncommon brands should be avoided, also, previous model productions should be avoided. could you take a picture of your enclosure? im guessing you have a reptarium? please post a pic, some 5.0 are fine for reptariums and...
