My 6-7 month old male veiled cham has been shedding on and off frequently, he did his normal routine shed about 6 weeks ago? and i noticed his casque? never shedded, and then he went through another shedding but only small parts of his body about 2 weeks ago? and then a little bit about a week...

Fat pads on their heads? could you explain this more for me? I do not think my chameleon is fat but I just want to know the signs so it doesnt sneek up on me. Because he loves his supers!

How can you tell if your chameleon is over weight? I've always heard they can get "fat" from eating too many worms...

ya my male veiled sleeps on the same spot of his cage hidden in the fake plants and he poops in the same spot back left corner! i love chameleons, their so cool.

thanks guys! this all really helps, I was a little worried to find my man hitting the sack early but he is right by a large window and he can definately see the sun come up and go down, my lights go on at 9 and off at 8, but after reading this i might make it more like the sun time, if you know...

So my male veiled chameleon almost 7 months old, he went to bed early tonight, which is so weird. It got me a little worried, he probably went to sleep about 40 minutes before his lights go out. His lights are on 12 hours and off 12 hours. Should I be worried. Also, he is shedding a little...

the more ventilation the better, but his feeders (crickets, worms, etc.) will get out, you could try cup feeding him, sometimes does not always work, some people have put a mesh with smaller holes just around the bottom of the tank to help keep feeders from escaping, but crickets are good...

i've always been afraid of using an ammonia solution or mixing water with a little bit of bleach, i use vinigar to clean his stuff/cage and i do put him in the shower while i do this, do u think vinigar is enough to disinfect?

one more question, if he does have parasites, could i easily catch them by just handling him occasionally for check ups and cleaning his cage and by cleaning his poop up every day? i do wash hands after every time i clean his cage, but when i first got him and i would handle him to make sure...

males tend to more aggressive, my male veiled hates the world, but once i get him out of his cage to check him out or to clean the cage he's fine, i've heard that some male veileds are so nice they can't wait to get out of the cage to be held, i think once they warm up to you they tend to be...
