I have giant twizzers that i use to put the feeders in a deli cup or large yogurt cup, and then i pinch some of the calcium with the twizzers and put it in the cup with the feeders and swirl it around, you don't need to make them look like ghosts...
Ok, you really just talked me into it, from reading posts chams do seem to like dubias much better...
What do you feed your dubias and what do you keep them in? And how big should I get them for a 9 month old veiled??
I can never keep mine alive... I keep them in a big plastic tub, there is no top on it, I keep tons of egg cartons in it for them and I have a dish that their food sits on, orange cubes, kale, lettuce, collard greens, etc. ya know, but once I buy them, almost half die after about 4 or 5 days...
People do keep baby chams in glass tanks or like sancho said plastic tubs, how old is the jacksons? You will need to get a screened cage eventually. Don't feel bad though, I made the same mistake by getting a glass terrarium bc I was given wrong info but I built a screened in porch type thing...
Looks awesome! You could add more fake plants, it would make the cham feel safer! Good job! Also, make sure you have calcium with out D3.
EDIT: Sorry I just noticed you said you have more fake plants!
These drippers work well, http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-supplies/bowls-drippers-misters-and-humidifiers/-/zoo-med-big-dripper/ , the round drippers tend to leak, I know this cause I am using a roud dripper... not sure how much you want to spend but you could get an automatic...
Try getting a timer, their cheap, that way when you are out late getting drunk on weekends you won't have to worry about the lights getting turned off for bedtime for your cham.
Also it is better to have the lights mimic the sun kind of, if the cham is in a room with a window he will want to...
You can find a cheap florescent fixture at lowes or home depot for like 12 bucks. No compact bulbs, it causes eye damage. And I hope you already know to dust the feeders with calcium w/o D3 almost everyday and calcium with D3 a few times a month and a multi vitamin supplement dusting a few...
I am not sure about that powersun UV bulb, everyone on here uses a house bulb for heat around 60 to 75 w depending on type of cham and then a 5.0 reptisun tube florescent, two lights.
Can anyone tell me if the zip drip is necessary? It adds about an extra $30 and I just want to know if it is really necessary? would you recommend this?
I was wondering if people could post pictures of their Mist king set up, like how they have the valves going into their cage, etc. I am planning on getting one and my cham cage sits very high on a table and I was wondering if the pump that comes with the starter mist king set is big enough to...
That's nice you would include him in your wedding, I'm definately having my dogs there but never really considered having my veiled there, that would be funny!
