chameleon freaks out seeing a flower

I have had this conversation with others about my red hair being aversive to raising chameleons. LOL. My little guys likes to eat red hibiscus on occasion. He never appeared upset by the plant and likes to crawl all over it. Maybe I have conditioned him to the red thing. ;)

    unofficial hunger strike poll

I did observe a decrease in hunger/eating when I moved my panther inside in the fall (housed primarily outside day and night in the summer). He is now next to a window and my light timer is set according to daylight hours. Light exposure, season, and temperature may all be possible...

    NE Snow Storm '07

Kipper is cute! I live in San Diego, but all my family is on the east coast. Lukily, Pablo gets to stay in the temperate climate. As for my husband and I, we are flying to Iowa to visit my in-laws and then driving to Rochester, NY to visit my family. I hope it gets better so we won't have...

    The power of the sun

It seems to be pretty cold all over the US right now, even in SoCal and Las Vegas. I live in San Diego and it has been in the 40's at night by the coast. I have a Furcifer pardalis and don't have the luxury of keeping him out all the time during late fall/winter months. I do keep him in an...

    Post day and night photos

Pretty nightime colors! I don't have pics of ambilobe panther at night because he loves to sleep in the very middle of his ficus so he feels safe. It's rather cute. He is hard to see without disturbing him, let alone get a nice picture of. But his colors at night are a beuatiful lime and...

    PM-60 frequency

I have the PM-50, but basically the same idea. I mist 3 times per day/ 20 min each time at 9am, 1:30pm, 5pm. I do it to allow ample time to drink and to increase humidity. I don't always use a dripper either. I solved the drainage problem by drilling several pencil-sized holes in PVC...

    1st time set up

IMO, I don't really like the Reptarium. They are dark and are harder to clean because there is mesh that zips around the frame (see description below). RepariumDescription: All mesh cages with zippered entry and durable frames. All models ship flat and assemble easily with no tools. Ideal...

Reptisun 5.0 vs Iguana light 5.0?

I went to purchase a new 24" Reptisun 5.0 linear from LLL and a sales girl told me the same thing (i.e. they are one in the same). They had Reptisun in yellow packaging for all other sizes except 24". The 24" was in aqua packaging and had the iguana on it. They told me it was Reptisun just...

    Fish Flakes and Crickets

I heard there is a chance of gout when gutloading with fishfood, but I am unsure if this claim is substantiated. A little every now and then probably wouldn't hurt.

    Brown Paper Bag

Pablo hated the paperbag method when I was taking him home from a show, but he was probably equally stressed (maybe a little less) by putting a sheet over his cage and transporting him that way. I don't think they like to travel much. LOL!
