I left her alone, but when I woke up this morning, I turned the light on in the room that she was in and that seemed to wake her up. Unfortunately, I was running late and didn't get to stick around to watch what she does. Hopefully when I get back home I will have eggs!
Hey guys,
As some of you might know, I work in a pet store. We have a female veiled that has been looking very very fat for about a month now, but showed no other signs of being pregnant. Well she started trying to dig up the bottom of her cage today, and I brought her home so that she could...
I've never had a chameleon die, but I have had several frogs that have died.
I usually go out and get pieces of wood, cut them the right size, then make their own little unique boxes. I also paint the top to match whatever color or pattern they had. I have all of mine buried at the edge of the...
Needless to say, she wasn't really all that hungry tonight, so she did not eat on her own. When I offered her one, she ate. Here are some pictures nonetheless :)
Thanks everyone!
I think that she might feel more secure in smaller spaces. Is this weird for chameleons? She is always climbing in a pocket or up my arm sleeve or into the hood of a sweatshirt. She never goes to sleep, but kind of pokes her head out and watches everything. Does anyone else's...
Hey everyone.
I just wanted to let all of you know that Jo used her tongue for the first time since I got her in November. She can't shoot it like a normal cham, but she can stick it out about three inches. I have finally figured out how to get her to eat on her own, but I still (sort of)...
I do have to be cautious when he starts to climb on my arm where there is no shirt because he slips sometimes, but other than that it really doesn't slow him down.
Wouldn't it leave some sort of scar or something where it was ripped out from the screening? I'm just curious.
When I read that something like that could happen, my first thought went to him. I didn't really get a good picture of his hand because he was moving around a lot and was determined to climb on top of my head, but I will get another pic of it tonight so you can see if it looks like a shedding...
Hey guys,
I've been meaning to share this with you all. At the pet store that I work at, we have a male chameleon that has been there for about two and a half years now. I honestly did not notice this until a costumer pointed it out, but he has no toes on his front right foot (hand?) I...
We have a "sick room" for our reptiles that need some peace and quiet, or need to be watched closer. Right now the two female chams are back there, in there. Of course they would have their laying bin set up back there and not in the middle of the store.
I understand you guys want to help...
I'm not trying to sound bitchy, but aside from the problem we have with the chameleons, you don't know anything about the store. We go through a lot to ensure the animals are happy and healthy, but I know how everything has to be absolutely perfect for people that know a lot about the animal. It...
She is the oldest that we have in our big cage. The other are around three months old. Again, this is a pet store that I work at, but do not own. I cannot do anything about it without the owner's consent, and right now she is worried about other things. We already used our four spare tanks to...
I'll try to fill this out to the best of my knowledge, but some of the tank has been set up since before I started working, so I'm not too positive of some things.
Can you fill this out please?
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care...
Yes, but the males are a few months younger than she is. There is now another female chameleon that is showing the same colorings. I am going to see if they will lay eggs in the bin I have for my cham, but I don't want to drag it into the store or bother setting up another cage for them if they...
