I thought that I would share this little story with all of you...
I took an extra long nap today and woke up far later than when I usually put MoMo to bed, and I freaked out when I saw the time and quickly opened his cage to check on him. He was already curled up near the bottom of the cage...
Haha, no, he is names after Momo from Avatar: The Last Airbender. This little guy: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xR9ehyQYvPI/UPhesxCxwPI/AAAAAAAADfc/jqVE6m3rUGU/s1600/i151983342_16125_3.jpg
Also, he is a little pig. I can barely get him to stop eating.
Hello,
I work in a pet store, and our adult male veiled chameleon has been constantly bulging his eye out. I thought that maybe he was doing it to scratch it, but he doesn't rub it on anything, he just does it. I am the one that primarily takes care of the chameleons and sees to it that they...
Hello everyone.
Since I got back to school, it was literally killing me to see JoJo's empty cage everyday. My boyfriend tried putting a toy Pascal (from the movie Tangled) in it to cheer me up, which it did for a few days, but then I just got really sad again.
Long story short, he felt...
I really wanted to get some things out. You all don't have to bother reading all of this, but I just wanted to get it out there and try to convey what a great little girl she was.
Besides losing her, the hardest part is trying not to blame myself too much. There is always an "I could have...
Hello everyone.
So many of you have followed JoJo's story that I wanted to let you all know. JoJo died about an hour ago. I knew that she was possibly egg bound, but this was very sudden. I thought she would make it. She just started showing signs of being really sick yesterday. I was going...
I've been wondering this, and since I can't get her to eat crickets, can I give her Repashy Crested Gecko Diet? It says on the packet that chameleons can eat it, and I thought it would be a good way for her to get some nutrition.
I hope that the shot works. I read that they give them the shot and then the surgery if it doesn't work, but I guess I already had it in my head that it wouldn't. Jo is very stubborn. Should I bring in her laying bin when I take her in?
Also, I think that my mom might be the one that has to take her in for me. Does anyone know about how much the surgery will cost? I know the vet visit itself will be 60, but I just wanted to know how much I was looking at.
There are emergency vets, but the one that is on call tonight said that he is extremely uncomfortable with exotics, and that I would be better off going to a vet that has more experience with them.
Hello everyone,
I have been trying to get JoJo to lay her eggs for nearly a month now. I put her in her laying bin everyday for several hours with no results. She stopped going to the bottom of her cage, started eating more, and started acting how she normally did. I thought that maybe it was...
JoJo gets awfully fussy with me as well when she is outside. I guess some sort of instinct kicks in and they see us as predators? That would be the only thing that I can think of anyway.
I showed this to my boyfriend and he said, "It's funny because you know chameleons are always grumpy. It just looks so angry that it has to fix poor craftsmanship."
