    Why Chameleons??

My husband had wanted chameleons since childhood. He asked his mother for one but got him an anole instead so his dream was never realized. So now 25 years later, this year I wanted to help realize his childhood dream. I researched for months and in June we got our first panther chameleon and...

    He likes my head :)

Shiva is the same way. Loves to climb to the top of my head and the best route is a hand in the nostril. I got a picture of him in route this morning! It's a little blurry but it's hard to take an in focus shot when you get a surprise hand in your nose!

    "Not-So-Official" Name Thread!

First there was Kai, who we named after Kaiju. Then we found out he was a she and we renamed her Kālī (who is the Goddess of Time, Change, and Destruction and Shiva's consort) . We then got our male very shortly after and named him Shiva. However, we felt that just one name wasn't appropriate...

Shiva finally likes something other than crickets!!!

Thanks for the feedback. Hornworms are just a treat to introduce variety. Crickets are still the staple. Maybe I will try blue bottles next. Best place to get them?

Shiva finally likes something other than crickets!!!

My husband painstakingly finally got Shiva to like something other than crickets. He has taken the occasional worm or dubia here and there but never anything consistent. It took putting a hornworm in his mouth a couple of times while he was eating a cricket. Now, Shiva readily eats hornworms. He...

Sorry to hear about your guy. Ours are just babies and already dreading the day. He obviously was well taken care of if he made it to 6 years!

    68 grams at 7 months

I wonder if they are from the same clutch? Shiva's disposition is fantastic too. He is so handleable, hand feeds and always wants out onto our hands. Here is a picture of him from yesterday. We would be glad to get an update from another Primo offspring of around the same age. Thanks!

    68 grams at 7 months

I know there is not a set weight average for male chameleons but wanted to check and see if the weight tracking we have been doing sounds like he is on a good trajectory. He was 29 grams at 5 months, 37 grams at 5.5 months and he is now about 7 months and weighed in at 68 grams yesterday. He is...
