you can use tacks, i use twistie ties..i think if he has more foliage he will have more leaves to drink from,and try warm water when misting..may have to mist few more times through the day or longer sessions till he gets used to it.
i would add to the basking to thermoregulate. move to heat when cold and when hot move away from heat source
drinking,have water fall on a surface usually leaves they lap the water off of
sleeping branch they also sleep under more foliage to feel more safe as predators have harder time finding
you should change your uvb every six months but depends on type of uvb also..and the flap under thin that puffs up full of air is to ward off anything your cham feels as threatening..we simply call this puffing.
some of us use two 6500k lights for plants that seems to help..or you can get a pothos to hang from top.i also have one on top and bottom and they will grow up sides of cages and vine and are fairly cheap.
definitely more foliage at the top and middle.and i would remove the gravel as this creates a breeding ground for bacteria and could hurt your chameleon not to mention if he or she ingests it,it could lead to a blockage resulting in surgeries or worse death..if you type in the search you can...

i also think its according to what you like and to your envornment in your houe..if you live somewhere hot, id go with a higher temp like veiled or panther....if you are somewhere cool go with montanes..some find it easier that way say instead of living somewhere hot and trying to cool temps...
