Great looking Cham! I'd love to pick him up but not sure if the wife would be up for it, she does the feeding half the time. Hmm, we'll have to talk about it.
I can appreciate that train of thought. I have a nosy be male and a nosy faly female. I want to breed them but I have no intentions of crossing locales.;) I've been thinking about one of Noki's sons too, and some carpets. Man I'm gonna need some more room, lol.
I'm going through the same thing with a Cham I got a few weeks ago. He arrived in this condition so I'm not sure what the cause is. I just finished up with an antibiotic and he has finally been able to tuck everything in where it should be but it is still a bit swollen. Ferritinmyshoes suggested...
If you look at the heel of his back feet you can see a bump or a spur. If there is no spur than it is a female. If you are still unsure just post a pic of his feet but it is pretty easy to see.
Well today is the forth dose out of seven, so far no improvement. It is getting more difficult to give him his meds and apply the ointment. Today he tried running from me and fell, he got right up and kept running and he still seems ok now so I guess that's good. I just can't wait for things to...
Thanks for the response, I really appreciate it. I see the sperm plugs on branches sometimes and sometimes with his feces. If his hemipene pockets need to be flushed out is that something that he needs to got the vet for or is it something that can be done at home and if so would you know where...
Today is day three on the antibiotic. So far there are no improvements and he has irritated it again to point of bleeding again, but only a little. I'm finding it difficult to keep up with the ointment since he just rubs it off on the branches.
My last panther has fallen further without issues, I would suspect it would depend on how he fell. I'd imagine you wouldn't know for sure without X-rays. I honestly don't know what the treatment would be.
Well he's on an antibiotic now and if it doesn't improve by next week he's off to the vet again. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on this since my vet seems knowledgeable enough but I just don't think she has the experience with chams that others on here do. Please let me know.
Thanks, glad yours worked out, hopefully mine will follow suit. I'm worried he might have some sort of infection that is causing the swelling. I'm guessing an antibiotic would be the next step but I'll have to wait and see what the vet says. I was hoping there would be more suggestions.
Don't know where you are from but the plants I see used in Cham enclosures are usually tropicals. A pothos will fill in a cage in no time and a small one can be found at walmart for cheap. I'd start there.
