I know this is a forum for chameleon related posts, but I have been searching on the Internet for this and I keep getting unclear answers or no answer at all. I bought some crickets for my leopard geckos and 2-3 crickets made their way out of the enclosure. I've had these crix for a few days and...
I got my very first chameleon on June 30 2014. From the first day all the way to the last I enjoyed watching him eat and drink everyday. Each and every day I had him I loved him so much and made sure he was eating a drinking and getting his supplements. I took the greatest care I I could give to...
My veiled has recently showed some symptoms of a URI although he only shows symptoms when he is eating or drinking, this is why i come here for a second opinion. When he eats his food (meal worms, crickets hornworm etc) after he swallows it he points his head upward for a 30seconds to a minutes...
I fed my cham the giant hornworm and he did digest it... Some of it... He threw the whole thing up!!! EW! It came out all white in the shape of the worm:mad: anyway moral of the story even though it was a soft bodied animal it should be bigger than their head, at least thats what i think is...
Obviously chameleons need live feeders to have good health. Understandable that some people do not want to have live bugs wandering (escaping from cage) around there house/making noise at night. What I have done is built a small cage with very fine nylon screen to strictly keep outside...
OUt of no where im out of cham food, the only thing I have is this monsterous hornworm. I know he wont choke on it but will he be able to digest it? Thanks
my 7mo male veiled cham has been having problems with both his eyes. at night he ussually shuts his eyes and sleeps. recently ive noticed eye deformities and he cannot shut either of his eyes.now at night instead of closing his eyes he stares straight and is unresponsive to motion. when he wakes...
I cup feed my chameleon and sometimes a bug will go flying out of the cup if he doesnt catch it. Superworms crickets and mealworms are in his feeding cup. What should I do if a mealworms or superworm burrows into one of my plants soil? How can I kill any bugs he does not eat?
Any ideas on beetles as staple feeders? I knew that supers and mealies turned into beetles so I thought of using them as staple feeders. What do you guys think? Any ideas?
NOTE: My cham will eat ANYTHING dead or alive so livelyness wouldnt be a problem
I just got back from a vacation, I had my friend take care of him for a week while I was gone. He had seemed fine when I picked him up, but when I had him back at my house, I walked in to see him grabbing his own foot:(:(:(!
I bought him a new UVB 5.0 Compact, and lots of Superworms...
I try to give my chameleon lots of food to eat but he wont eat alot of the things i try to give him. He will eat Crickets, Hornworms, and Superworm but wont touch mealworms yet he has had them a few times before (8-9 times). He also wont touch any fruit I put in his cage. Is there any other...
I recently noticed my chameleon trying very hard to hide but he didnt have many places to hide so I got some new plants for him. Before all he had was a pothos and a palm and 10-15 branches. So i got him a money tree, another pothos, 2 atrificial plants, 10 more sticks, a misting system, and a...
I was taking a plant out of my chameleons cage when he slipped and fell off a branch:eek:! He caught onto a near by plant then fell and hit the wooden bottom about 1-2 feet off the ground! I picked him up and inspected his bones and legs. All his legs and bones are straight and he climbed up my...
I have already had checked and researched all the plants to make sure they are safe. Is my setup Ok for a veiled chameleon (Pics Below)? And I will be changing the wiring to vinyl coated wire instead of what I am using now
My veiled has been on a staple diet of crickets since I got him. I would ussually feed 10-15 Crickets a day 1-2 Superworms a day and 1-2 hormworms a week. Now he will still eat supers and horn worms but he refuses crickets... what should I do?
In one of my recent posts "Lovereps" gently reminded me not to use galvanized mesh for my chameleons cage because it causes Zinc poisoning in reptiles and birds. I tried doing research but I came up empty handed. Can anyone verify this claim? Any input would be appriciated :D:D
I've been feeding my 5 month old veiled chameleon crickets, superworms, and hornworms. I notice he eats a lot of the plants in his cage so I wanted to know what other fruits/veggies I could feed him. So can I feed him any of these: Mango, Apple, Banana, Grape, Grapefruit, Bell Pepper, Cucumber...
Does he look healthy? (Pictures Below) Sorry my camera is REALLY bad so the picture quality isnt that great.
I got him 3 months ago, I dont know how old he was when I got him but I'm guessing around 2 months. So does he look healthy for about 5 months? I took the picture where he was exposed...
