Well, just use the mistking without the timer. It'll turn on when you plug the pump in and turn off when you unplug the pump. There's a On/Off button on the timer too which essentially does the same thing. Just don't use the Auto feature on the timer.
Ok, many thanks for the advice. I plan on feeding a variety of food. Hornworms just seem like so easy to raise compared to silkworms and cleaner and less smelly than crickets.
Hi everyone,
Well it's unanimous. All my panthers love hornworms. If I dust them like I do with my crickets, can I use hornworms as my panther's main food? I like the fact that they're so juicy too which will definitely help with hydration. I can also let 2 or 3 free range in the cage and...
Oh yeah, we get mountain lions that come down from the foothills. Last year, they killed one in freakin downtown Santa Monica. This is basically the west side of Los Angeles mind you!
When I lived up in the Santa Monica Mountains in Brentwood (of OJ fame) we'd get rattlers, scorpions and...
You bring up a good point. But the worst thing that come into my fenced-in yard is maybe a raccoon and/or an opossum and I have a particularly ferocious Yorkie that scares them away.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
Hi everyone,
I guess this questions is for you guys in more moderate temperate areas. Do any of you guys keep your panther chams exclusively outdoors? I live near the beach in Los Angeles and it only gets really cold or really hot a couple weeks out of the year.
I'd like to let my...
I'm glad it worked out for the best. I lost one of my little guys once just for a couple of minutes. He snuck off the potted plant I put him on and climbed up the Jasmine vine right next to it. He we literally eye level with me and I still couldn't see him until I happen to catch his eye move.
My new obsession is to find a beautiful (unrelated)pair of Nosy Mitsio. From what I see, they're pretty hard to come by. So my questions is do any of you guys know which online vendor or private breeder would be a reputable source for them? I would prefer CB, but WC is fine too. Many thanks.
No problem! No, the tubing goes into the the horizontal parts. The vertical part goes into the opposite end of your nozzle, the part that sticks outside of your cage.
Oh yeah, I don't know if you can see from the pics, but I have the dual mistking nozzles mounted on the top left and right corners of the cage to get better coverage with the spray.
I think I'm gonna try this fan...
Thanks for the replies guys. Here are some pics of my setup. Sorry for the background light, but one of my reef tanks is behind my cages. As I mentioned before, I have a mistking running 3 times a day for 4 minutes at 4 hour intervals. I don't know if you can see by the picture, but I have a...
I have a mistking setup to mist 3 times a day for 4 minutes at 4 hour intervals. I currently do not run a drip system yet. I don't have any substrate on the bottom and the the cages are on a slight incline with a half inch hole drilled in the bottom for drainage.
Hi everyone, what do you guys think about running a small fan to blow air across the bottom of the cage to help speed up water evaporation? Most of the water evaporates from the bottom of my cage between mistings, but barely. Will the fan bring down the humidity too much? Thanks in advance.
