    We did it!

Thats awesome! I know exactly how you feel as my little veiled Lucy would run from me and turn dark when trying to hand feed. Like everyone will say and its true patience is a virtue. My little one now will come down and snatch supers from my hand. Shes not to keen on climbing on me yet and...

Hey Gang, First off I wanna start by saying thank you to everyone who has given me advice on here. Lucy has come from being a very dark grey all the time and running from me as soon as I open her door to eating supers from my hand. Shes still not overly happy to come out of her cage but its...

Hey Gang, I was wondering what the avg age is when a veiled will have their first batch of Eggs? My girl is only 4 months so I still have plenty of time, just curious as to when I should really be on the look out for it.

Basking temp for 4 month old Female Veiled

Hey Gang, I have read dif articles are blogs and such on basking temps. Some ppl go even as high as 95+. I have a 4 month old and my temp gauge is set about 1 inch higher then the basking area but off to the side so it doesn't get all the light the basking area (vine and log) do. It reads...

    Full size crickets

Hey gang, I had a question about full size crickets and when they become the default. I have a veiled cham approx 4 months old. When I first had her for about a week all the local stores had were pretty big crickets. I made due with them as I had no choice. I was taking the odd leg off etc...

When is it time to upgrade?

I currently have my young veiled in a 16x16x30 screen cage. My question is when is it time to upgrade? I know I will need a 24x24x48 sometime in the future, but when is the right age and size to make the switch. Thanks in advance, Eddie

    Covering sides of cage

If I use black will it really make her sustain a darker color? I use black by default for the back wall to which the cham is closest to most the time, could this be part of why she is normally a darker green and not more of a bright green? Would white perhaps be a better option?

    Covering sides of cage

Hey guys, I had a question about covering a side of my Cham cage. My cham is in my living room and when my daughter is over it can be fairly high traffic in this room. I noticed my cham is getting pretty dark and I'm sure its due to my daughter playing and such. I was wondering if I just...

    age of Cham??

Hey guys, I was looking to post hoping some of you might be able to give me a rough estimate of how old my chameleon is. I got her at a pet store around 2.5 wks ago. She was very small when I got her and has gotten a little bit bigger since I guessed she would be a little over two and a half...

    Eats as soon as sprayed?????

I've noticed over the last few days that my young Veiled eats 1 single cricket right after a spray. I usually feed her in the AM ( 7 - 8 crickets) after the temp picks after her morning spray and a few are always remaining. Then during an afternoon spray she will hide in her plant (she likes...

    What do you guys think?

This looks alot like the setup I bought. Is it the repti-breeze cage? I found it to be a great starter setup other then the blue bulb. I switched mine out for a 60 watt basking light and kept the UVB that came with it. I read somewhere the colored bulbs are not that great for Chams. As...

    Staring into her lights....

Hey Gang, I wanted to post and ask if anyone's Cham has ever just starred into their lights? My young Veiled Lucy has started doing this from time to time. She will sit in her basking area and look at the lights... Sometimes she will even puff out neck for a sec or two also. She will remain...

    Lucy's new pad.

Guess I worded that bad. Its her cage for now, just until she out grows it. Since ive had her I notice her tendencies and wanted to change things up a bit... just things like more vines in areas she wasnt using and swapped the plant for an edible hibiscis. I know in less then a year she will...

    Lucy's new pad.

After a few revisions this is the final home for my juvi veiled cham Lucy. Its a 16x16x30 screen cage. In the pic its hard to see the log that runs from one back corner to the top corner ( basking area). The lights are a 50w basking light and a 5.0 uvb bulb. After this pic I put in the floor...
