    One eyed Cham

so Karma has been doing great with me for 3 years. I take her out every other day for hand feeding and today noticed that her eye was swollen and misshaped. She keeps rubbing it on sticks and its not really opening. I'm worried about a possible eye infection? Has anyone else had this problem?

How does your chameleon spend his/her time?

Karma likes to surf the web on her freetime. Its no big deal, shes kinda a techie.

    Gravid?

no digging or scratching yet that I've seen. I put in a tupperware with some sand now. Just gonna see if shes interested at all.

    Gravid?

Shes been real fat since last night. And today. And she's real sluggish. I'm gonna put in a tupperware with some moist sand, if that sounds right? Shes a female senegal about a year and a half, maybe 2 years old.

    Bee on the menu

I wish I wasn't so terrified of bees. This sounds like a good snack. My Karm doesn't bother with them. It's like she knows better. haha.

I Really Thought She Was Dead

They eat the same food, need the same humidy and temp, and need the same amount of space. The extra water that the frog needs is supplied with a rock bowl full of water, which is only put in at night and taken out and cleaned every day.

I Really Thought She Was Dead

Its a tall, modified terrarium. Instead of just the top being mesh, where the door used to be is also mesh. So 3 sides glass, one long side mesh and the top is also mesh.

I Really Thought She Was Dead

so I was just royally freaked out. Karma was at the back of her enclosure sleeping, but she was really puffed out and not moving. Usually she wakes up at night when I'm getting ready for bed, especially if I'm moving stuff around in her enclosure, which I was. I touched her a little and it...

    Parasites?

They do eat up everything on the bottom. Shed skin, feces, dead crickets. Exactly like you said. Do you think they could be coming in on the substrate I buy?

    Parasites?

Ok. So. I seem to have noticed these small little mite looking creatures at the bottom of Karm's enclosure. They are very very tiny, white, and seem to stay only at the bottom in with the substrate. I had taken out all of foilage and vines and soaked them in hot water. After close...

    Friends

Yea Karma is always a nice light green and even when the Frog is out and around her she never puffs up and puts on her angry face. She isn't even mildly interested. The Frog is actually the more social one and will actually try and find her through the enclosure and just sit with her. His type...

    Slippery Slope To Reptile Hell

hahaha. This is sad and true. Green Iguana to red eared slider turtles, to Garder Snakes, to Chams. <3 Love it.

    Friends

Even frogs get a little lonely sometimes. <3 Sometimes Krishna likes to hang out with Karma at the top of their enclosure. Krishna is nocturnal so I usually don't catch when he's up and about but luckily I've been a little bit of an insomniac this week. Karma never minds and sleeps...

    dogs get jealous of chams

My Cham is TERRIFIED of my dog. She gets really stiff and still around him. Then again, shes only a senegal and is super tiny. I bet pictures of your cham riding your dog would be pretty amusing. :)

    Shedding wont come off

I have some rough plastic plants in the corner or my enclosure. When my cham sheds she usually rubs her face and body up on the sides of it to help pull off the skin. It may help if you add in something like that.

Why is she on the floor?

I probably wouldn't handle them too much, even though you were told to handle them alot. Especially since you just got them and they will have to get used to their surroundings. It will most likely just add to stress, unfortunately. As for the divider, I would try a mesh divider and perhaps lace...

Why is she on the floor?

I had my cham do the same thing recently. I had moved for a few weeks in with my grandmother and her enclosure was in a rather high traffic area with a large dog that bothered her very much. She stuck pretty close to the ground in the corners and actually tried to hide herself inthe substrate...
