I have a male veiled and a (likely) female crested gecko. Every single time I let my veiled out to roam he climbs on top of my cresties cage and tries to get inside.
A few times I've caught him rubbing his nose on the top screen or banging his head (I always stop him right away) on the glass...
That looks like just the right size and little light :D Are the leaves/stems sturdy? I don't my guy falling everywhere  he is not the brightest cham, tries to climb up the walls and junk all the time.
I have a few right around me so I'll have to check there. Once I get another plant I'm planning a complete cage redo ( his head is getting too big to fit in between the vines :o ) So once it's done i'll put up some pics of him and his new setup.
Thanks for all the advice :)
Probably yeah. I think it was old water not draining correctly or the soil, but never figured it out. Everytime I go to lowes they are out of any decent schefflera now
Haha it wasn't completely dead
It wasn't growing real well though and just kept getting lots of yellow, dead leaves. Plus it smelled like pee or something
I ended up giving it to my boyfriends mom to see if she could keep it alive outside.
I was thinking a light on the...
So sorry to hear about your loss. I haven't heard of Chazam around the forums before but he looks extremely handsome and has amazing colors. I'm sure he was an amazing friend.
R.I.P. Chazam
I'm preparing a lay box in case my crestie is a girl (looks like it at 30g). I was wondering if I can just use organic soil or if it would be a lot better to use peat moss or something?
Wondering because soil I already have but I'll have to go out to lowes for anything else :)
I have looked at the money tree/ lucky bamboo as well as orchids and peace lilys. All posts and research I have found say they're toxic though :(
Cool, I'll definitely try those for better draining. Do you use pebbles or big river rocks, or does it not matter? My cham likes to poop all over...
Not inside the cage, just next to the side... like on a small stand aimed into the cage. A scheflerra is what I have now and it keeps dropping a bunch of leaves that keep dying. They have both had decent draining I think, they were re potted with organic soil so it may be a bit dense for the...
I'm using a 6500k CFL daylight bulb for the plant. Then, I believe, a 75w basking bulb and a 10.0 uvb. The light mostly only hits the top of the plant which is why i'm wondering if I should add another plant light that faces the bottom of plant, around the roots and stems.
The first pothos I...
Haha that's awesome! My veiled is around a year old now and he's just a big grump, he'll go to the bottom of his cage when he wants out and if you try to bother him any other time he huffs and puffs a bunch. He still has his silly moments though.
Thanks, i'll have to look through the list again. I've been through a majority of it and they're mostly high light demanding. Any good basement plants i've seen are possibly toxic, even though my veiled doesn't eat plants I don't think I should take the chance of putting something toxic in.
As Benton1576 said, it seems like he's just trying to make sure it's dead. I wouldn't worry. It's like if a cat is playing or catching a mouse, they shake it around to kill it and stop it from moving.
It is definitely adorable though! Your little guy looks like he's growing up with a great...
I can't find any basement plants :(
My room where my veiled stays is in the basement so I have no windows. I have tried pothos and scheffelera(sp) but both started to die and not do so well.
What I want is a low light plant with sturdy branches or leaves for climbing on that will grow...
